We’ve got some good news for you - research shows that there’s no need to feel guilty about taking time out to nap during the day. Apparently catching up on some Zs with a 45 minute power nap can help lower your blood pressure after a stressful event.

Participants in the experiment were split into two groups - one of which was allocated a 60 minute period during the day to get some sleep – and both were asked to complete a complex mathematical sum designed to raise blood pressure. It was found that those who’d managed to take advantage of a little shut-eye had significantly lower blood pressure rates during the test than those who’d stayed awake.

While this is all well and good in theory, most of us are severely frowned upon if we try and nod off at our desks (even we are not supposed to be sleeping on the job at wellness central Wahanda) – and unfortunately we can’t all emigrate to the Med for a daily siesta.
