My whole experience at MYZ was fantastic! The massage was the best I have had in a long time, I've already made an appointment to return!
I noticed this new salon on Queensway and couldn't help be impressed by the interior of this salon, it looks gorgeous and you can see no expense has been spared fitting it out.
I decided I needed to try it out and had a manicure. I had the choice of Essie, OPI and the new Morgan Taylor polishes - it was good to be able to chose between such good ranges. I went for Essie and the nail technician was really nice, she was friendly and professional and shaped my nails just how I wanted them. I didn't get any chips in the varnish for about 6 days - brilliant.
I will definitely return!
I have really enjoyed visiting this salon. The therapist is a really nice, professional lady and she always has a chat with me before my facial and listens to any concerns I have about my skin and then during the treatment she doesn't really talk - I find this perfect as I love to relax and zone out! The Guinot facial is an hour and 45 mins and my skin looks and feels amazing afterwards and I really like that whilst the therapist advises me on skin products, I have never felt that she is being too pushy.
I recently had a wax a this salon and it was very good but I still love my lycon wax which unfortunately they don't yet use at this salon - hopefully soon though?!
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this salon and look forward to my next facial.
I had walked past this salon lots of times and was happy when they could fit me in at short notice for a manicure. However the salon seemed to be in the middle of shelves being moved around so was slightly chaotic. The nail technician that did my manicure totally ignored me - she didn't look at me/talk to me and just seemed sullen. It made me feel really uncomfortable. The manicure was nothing special however the finish of the varnish was neat enough. However it chipped quickly.
I wouldn't recommend.
I can't fault Marcela's, I really can't. Its a lovely salon, from the decor to the service you receive. I have found Marcela's to be one of the best places in London to have a mani/pedi. I have visited many times and all the nail technicians have been excellent, they really take care with what they are doing and the results are always impressive. Nails always look gorgeous after, really neat and glossy. Will always return.
I had a really bad experience here. I popped in for a pedicure and at first was happy they could fit me in but in hindsight it would have been better if they couldn't. I sat in a pedicure chair that has a remote controlled massage system which I thought would be nice but it was pretty noisy so I ended up turning it off.
I was sat reading whilst the nail technician was dealing with my feet when I felt a sharp cut on my big toe - she had been trimming my cuticles (which I believe is not good for the cuticles) and she had obviously slipped and cut my toe quite badly (it drew blood). She apologised once and then the nail technician at the next station said something to her in another language (which I just found rude). At that point I wanted to walk out but I let her get on with the rest of the treatment. I wasn't relaxed though and just wanted it to be over as quick as possible. The products they use on your feet (exfolitator/cuticle oil/moisturiser etc) all seem to be cheap brands - no Essie/OPI here!
The varnish was neat and did look nice. Before I went under the dryer the technician put some product on the cut but when I left the salon it started bleeding again - not a good look. I was offered no money off or anything which I thought was very poor. Basically this place is a conveyor belt, its get 'em in and out fast and take their money (preferably cash) - when I tried to pay with my card she asked me if I had cash which I didn't and only then did she produce a card machine!!
Only thing going for it is that its quite cheap but I will never come here again or recommend, I'd prefer to pay more money and go somewhere where I don't get cut and where the atmosphere and ambience is a lot nicer.
What a let down Nail Girls was. I was looking forward to coming here for a mani and pedi but the whole thing was a let down. The salon is pretty small and as all manicure stations were busy it felt very cramped and we all had to be careful anytime we moved. The technician actually dropped a pot with instruments in.
The treatments were disappointing, I chose nice colours but the technician put two thick coats on my fingernails meaning they took forever to dry and bubbled. Also my cuticle were covered in varnish. The result was really unprofessional.
For the pedicure you stay in the same chair and just lift your foot up under the table - it was really odd and not at all relaxing. When lifting the feet up and down you had to be ultra careful not to smudge the varnish, but this is really difficult when you can't see what you are doing. The finish on my toes was only slightly better than my fingers but not much.
On the website I read about a drying lounge but I couldn't tell you where this was as I was just told to sit on the couch, I wasn't given a towel to put under my feet so my feet were just on the cold floor.
The staff moaned to each other and myself and the other clients about things they weren't happy with in the salon (they said they used to have a better pedicure area) and they also moaned about not having enough space to work in. This was unprofessional but I felt a bit sorry for them because they were right in what they were saying.
The cherry on the cake is that this place is actually really expensive but I'm not sure what they think justifies the high cost. I don't believe the service, the products (OPI and Essie are miles better than their products) or the finish does.
I have been walking past this salon for years but recently I decided to look at the prices for their beauty treatments and thought they seemed very reasonable (especially considering the area). I booked in for a Guinot Hydradermie facial.
The receptionist was welcoming and took me downstairs to the beauty area where my therapist was waiting for me. The therapist asked me lots of questions about my skin to ensure she used the correct products and as a current is used in this treatment she also asked me questions about my health to check for contraindications. Then she started the facial. I found it very relaxing and toward the end I could have drifted off!!
Afterwards my skin looked very good (normally my skin is red after a facial but not this time!) so I was quite pleased about that! In the following days my skin was lovely and clear. I was impressed with the price - £46 for an hour and a quarter - I shall definitely make this a regular treat!
Sadly I did not go here because of a money off voucher (silly me!) and I will start by saying its not the cheapest salon but having said that its a west end salon so is similar to many salons in the area!
I had a whole head of highlights. My hairdresser was excellent, he spoke to me for ages about my hair and exactly how I wanted the colour, I felt he really listened and wanted to give me the colour I wanted. And he did this, I am chuffed with my colour, best I've had in a while and this shall now be my salon of choice when it comes to colour!
The salon itself is really nice. Its very modern and well thought out, there is a lovely waiting area where you can help yourself to drinks - can of Sprite for me! And I whilst I was waiting for my colour to take I surfed the net on the macbook - brilliant!
I really can't fault my experience here - loved it!
