I am a professional animator, who likes the stay girly because I'm constantly surrounded just by men!
I love doing pilates and trying out any new fitness craze.
I always have a brazillian done, and occassionally like to treat myself to a pedicure, facial or funky new haircut
Lovely lady and great haircut. Being positioned in Holborn she clearly understood that most of her market will be those who have popped out of the office on their lunch break. She was efficient and friendly without making me feel rushed.
I've been having hollywood waxes for many years and have tried loads of different therapists since my regular one emigrated a few years ago, and this is definitely one of the best. The therapist was really thorough and didn't leave any random hairs. It was also very quick and about as painless as a hollywood can be!
My only negative comment is that I did have a few problems booking an appointment as the phone isn't always picked up.
I was so relieved to find the Peter May centre! I have tried out a few gyms in Walthamstow and this is definetly the best by a long way.
The gym is big and friendly and most importantly the females changing rooms are lovely and have free hair dryers!
I've also tried a few different class which have all been very well done, witha good atmoshere and skilled instructors.
I went to the Runway ro have a full leg and brazillian wax. The salon is really nice, if a little out of the way, and I was generally very impressed with my visit.
The therapist was excellent. She was friendly without being instrusive and completed the treatments quickly, but well. At the end they also offered me anothr 20% my next waxing if I booked it then - which I did!
I went to have a brazilian wax and pedicure with a wahanda voucher.
My therapist was very friendly and put me at ease, but unfortunately I don't think she was particually skilled. I have been having brazilian waxes for nearly 5 years and I have never had one as painful as this. I felt bruised for quite a few days later.
I've never had a pedicure before so I have nothing to compare it to, but I again I found the filing a bit painful as the tips of my toes were filed along with the nails and it made it uncomfortable to walk afterwards. The foot massage bit was good though.
I won't be going back :(
I've been a member of gll in Hackney for a few years and have always been impressed with their services. When I moved to Waltham forest, this was the first gym that I tried out to be my new local and regular one.
While the pool and track looked pretty good, the gym was really dissapointing. It is tiny, with no windows and lots of broken machines. The changing rooms were frankly terrifying! Dank with flickering lights. I've never got dressed so quickly!
If you want to join a gym in E17 DONT go here! Peter May, which is about a mile away and also in the gll group is so much better
I have been a member of gll in Hackney for a few years abd have always been impressed with them. However, when I first moved to Waltham Forest, I tried this gym out with the hope of making it my new local and regular one and was really dissapointed, especially considering it says it has just been renovated.
The gym is small, cold and very grubby looking with lots of broken machines.
If you want to go to a gym in E17 DONT go here. The Peter May centre, which is about a mile away and also in the gll group is miles better.
I tried out a brand new hair cut involving a statement fringe at Eclipse hairdressers. It was really refreshing to have a hairdresser who actual cut my hair like the pictures I brought along with me instead of attemping their own artistic intrepretation of it. The cut and finish where exactly what I asked for.
My only complaint would be that there were 2 other members of staff who clearly had nothing else to do with their time, so they stood and watched my hair cut, which felt a little odd. But then I did get may haircut on a Tuesday morning - hardly hairdressing rush hour!
Strip Soho provide a very luxurious service, which was definetly my most pain free hollywood wax to date. The staff were really friendly and helpful and didn't try to push me into buying anything else, which I thought they might considering I was getting a bargain wax with my Wahanda voucher!
My only very minor complaint would be that you have to pay for ingrown hair removal in your waxed area as a seperate treatment, and I had had this included in the part of the waxing service at other salons.
In general though this is clearly a cut above most waxing places, and worth spending a few more pounds on.
