How does it work?

Before any surgery can take place, it’s necessary to attend a consultation with your [[treatment/cosmetic-surgery/| cosmetic surgeon]]. They will take your medical history to ensure that you are suitable to undergo the procedure, as well as discussing your aesthetic goals and expectations.

Decided to take the plunge and go under the knife? There are two main types of necklift – the skin-only necklift and the platysmaplasty lift. The skin-only necklift pretty much does what it says on the tin: your surgeon will make two incisions near the ear and tighten up the skin, removing any excess. A platysmaplasty necklift is more complicated and involves the removal and rearrangement of muscle to improve the look of the neck and throat. We wonder if the turkeys know about this...

As with many cosmetic procedures, swelling and bruising are common following a neck lift. You’ll be given medication to help alleviate this, and instructed to keep your head and neck as still as possible. Is it for me?

If age or hereditary fat deposits have left you with a double chin or a neck a turkey would be proud of, a necklift could be the best way to improve your appearance. However, as with all surgical procedures, there are risks involved – make sure you’ve talked these over thoroughly with your surgeon before you make a decision.
