Get ready to achieve alignment. Inspired by the traditional healing techniques of the Maya, Arvigo therapy was developed by Dr Rosita Arvigo to help restore the body to its natural balance. Focussing on abdominal [[treatment/therapeutic-massage/| massage]] and the structural alignment of the spine, this treatment aims to improve the circulation and flow of energy, benefitting the reproductive, urogenital and digestive systems. Sounds like it’s time to rub your stomach...(no need to pat your head, though).

How does it work?

During a session of Arvigo therapy, your practitioner will begin by reviewing your general health and asking for details of your history. This will help them to get an idea of the bigger picture and any factors that may be causing your symptoms.

Your therapist will then ask you to lie down on a massage table, before using gentle but firm movements to massage your abdomen. This technique is designed to realign the reproductive and abdominal organs – straightening you out and putting everything back in its proper place. After your abdominal massage has finished, your therapist may work on your spinal alignment - focussing in particular on the sacrum, lumbar and thoracic spine. They will also recommend complementary follow ups such as herbal remedies, castor oil packs and [[treatment/nutritional-advice-and-treatments/| nutritional advice]]. Is it for me?

It is believed that Arvigo therapy may be able to help with a variety of different health complaints. If you suffer from any of the following, it might be worth giving it a go:

A tilted or prolapsed uterus Benign prostate enlargement Digestion disorders Bladder problems

The Mayan people are obviously a pretty wise bunch – not only did they inspire this healing technique, but they are also credited with the invention of hot chocolate. We like their style...
