After a lifelong pursuit of silky-smooth hair – and multiple fruitless attempts using various \u201cfrizz-free\u201d hair masks – a while ago, I finally bit the bullet and headed down to the salon for a keratin treatment<\/a>. Granted, the immediate results were a dream (and a compliment-magnet), but I was sceptical whether it would be worth the hefty price tag. These are my thoughts a few weeks post-treatment. <\/span><\/p>\n

How long do the results of a keratin treatment last?<\/h3>\n

Results can last up to 4 months depending on your hair type and after-care. Some people may notice more frizz appearing after several weeks, especially if exposed to cold weather or if they frequently bleach their hair.<\/div>\n

What changes can you expect in your hair after a keratin treatment?<\/h3>\n

Hair looks significantly shinier and feels much healthier right away. Even hair that is normally dry and frizzy appears smoother and makes existing colour look richer. Smoothness can remain even after wearing hair up.<\/div>\n

Your routine can become much quicker and easier. Hair may not be completely smooth after blow-drying, but a simple pass with straighteners leaves it smooth until the next wash, saving a significant amount of styling time.<\/div>\n

When I say my hair was shiny after the keratin treatment, I mean shi-ny.<\/em> Magpie level shiny. My hair is dry and frizzy (sigh) so tended to look a little dull. Naturally, my hair repels being straight - mere moments in a bobble (even those bougie silk scrunchies) and there’s a serious kink. After the treatment?
