I had a half hour deep tissue/sports massage from Andrea in my office a couple of weeks ago. As someone who has run and cycled regularly for a long time, I always have some kind of complaint or other, and have had a lot of this kind massage to try and fix them. Most of the time they do absolutely nothing to improve the situation but in this case, even in such a short time, Andrea's work really released a lot of tension in my lower back, hips and legs, so that things were perceptibly looser cycling home that day, and some long-standing medial knee pain was significantly relieved.
I thought Andrea's style included some elements of Thai massage and more 'relaxing' forms (which are not normally my thing). He was clearly paying attention to and working with my breathing. He had quite a novel way for me to indicate when the pressure was too much, though I never had to use it as he judged it perfectly. He also observed that I probably focus too much on my lower body when stretching.
In summary, Andrea is a consummate professional and gave me one of the best massages I've had.
