I hate to leave a bad review but felt this had to be done as I would not want it to happen to someone else.
I was 10mins early for my appt and the stylist kept me waiting until 25mins after my appt time whilst he finished (chatting) with another customer. I booked in for full-head highlights for just my roots but the stylist advised against this - I am very dark naturally and had a lot of colour build-up - he insisted on putting an all-over blonde colour on my hair. Unfortunately his English was very very poor so could not understand when I said I don't want a block colour. He was adamant he could not do highlights on my hair so I relented with the colour. Another guy (a barber) in the salon told me “not to worry, he is an excellent hairdresser”. The application went ok, however when he was washing my hair he kept leaving me sitting there whilst he dealt with other customers. I'd told him I was now running late for another appt but he couldn't understand.
When he washed it off it was horrendous!! It was bright orange with bright yellow roots - and I mean ILLUMINOUS - my scalp was also bright red and my hair in terrible condition. I said I was not happy with it but I appreciated it would look different when dry - it only looked slightly different and really was still SO bright. The stylist kept saying he needed more time - he couldn't understand me as I tried to explain he started late and when I booked the appt it said 1hr 45mins (I knew it would take longer) but overall it took 2hrs, that's with starting 25mins late. I also said I was booked in with a girl called Sara (who has had great reviews on here) but the other guys told me it was her day off (their English was also poor). Then the stylist told me it was his first day at the salon!!! He blow-dried it very flat and lifeless and I was just unable to ask him to do it better due to the language barrier.
I was absolutely horrified and distraught and had I not had another appt to go to in another part of London I would have insisted it was rectified or demanded a refund.
I felt the way it was dealt with was terrible, I was unable to communicate properly with the stylist, he was a lovely guy and I felt for him being new in the UK, but his English should be improved before working in such an environment as hairdressing. He should also not have insisted on me having a colour – I understand my hair was not ideal to start with but his lack of communication skills meant that this couldn’t be discussed properly as it could have been with another stylist.
I then had to visit a private hairdresser in South London, late at night so had to pay for taxis, and pay for my hair to be rectified, finishing at 2.30am.
I would definitely never use this salon again and am so so disappointed with the service and treatment I received.
Please please please don’t only read the good reviews and make sure you know who is doing your hair before you attend the appointment!!!!
