I have recently moved to South London and was eager to find a new salon for my Hollywood wax as it will be too far to travel to my usual salon in north London.
After reading the information on Allure of Beauty I decided to give it a go. I made my reservation but then received an email to say my appointment had be rescheduled. I could not make the new appointment so contacted the salon who were very helpful in arranging an appointment to suit me.
When I arrived for my appointment, the beautician came out and told me that they had ran out of hot wax and therefore would have to use strips. Although I was reluctant, I agreed that this would be ok as I had travelled quite a bit to get there.
The beautician was very friendly and made me feel at ease and chatted with me.
However, whilst I was being waxed, I could hear another employee on the phone explaining to a customer on the phone that the beautician who did the hot wax was not in today and that today's beautician could only use strips. She then arranged for the beautician who does the hot wax to come in later that evening to wax this customer, meaning that they had not run out of hot wax.
When the beautician informed me she was finished, I was surprised as she had not asked if I wanted the back done, which is the norm with a Hollywood wax. She then informed me that there was a 'few stray hairs' which I accepted, although most therapists I have seen would tweeze the hairs. I later discovered that there was a lot more than a 'few' stray hairs. Overall I was very disappointed with my wax treatment.
