Grayshott Health Spa
Visited Sep 2013
A lovely day out from London although quite costly to get there as the nearest train station is a £15 taxi ride from the spa itself. Grayshott is a beautiful old house set in some gorgeous grounds. It seems quite large but it never felt very busy which was nice. I went mid week so assume it would be busier at the weekend. The deal I booked was use of facilities and lunch (although I could have sworn when I first saw the offer it was for use of facilities and either a massage or facial). The meal was nice, but it was a buffet and as I arrived an hour after it opened, it seemed a lot of dishes had run out! The prawns and the nice dessert had alreay gone! I booked a massage extra which was very nice. Had a male therapist, which I didn't mind but this was not made clear to me when I booked so if you would prefer a female therapist then I suggest you let them know when you book. The place could do with a good clean - especially the gym and the exercise room! There was dust on the machines and balls of fluff in the corners! I was also horrified to find that to use the power plate machine i would have to book a 25 min session at the cost of £36! Needless to say I stayed away from that machine. The pool and spa area are lovely and I did a fun aqua aerobic class. The friendly staff and the welcoming environment are what made the day special but it could be improved by just a little more focus on the finer details (such as cleanliness!). Would recommend.
