I experienced a very unhelpful and rude attitude from the receptionists when visiting Evolve in South Kensington. I turned up as a 'drop in' to a fully booked class. Some pre-booked people hadn't arrived, so I asked if I could join on the condition I leave if they came. This suggestion was refused point blank, on the insistence they had to honour their pre-bookings. When I explained this would still be the case, because I would leave if they arrived, they were either unwilling or unable to grasp the point.
I was told I could join if I waited 10 mins, but as this was a kundalini class, missing the first 10 mins was unacceptable because of the 'tuning in' process integral to kundalini yoga practice.
As I left, I said their customer service was lacking and I would be leaving reviews on social media accordingly. At this, the reception retorted 'that's not very yoga is it?!', as if implying that yoga establishments should be exempt from receiving negative reviews based on bad customer service.
The experience was a shame because it is a nice studio in a great location. But at a time when people are watching their spending, I refuse to give my hard-earned cash to a business with so little regard for their customers.
