Botox treatment is relatively painless. The needles most practitioners use are the insulin syringes which diabetic patients use to inject insulin into their stomach. These needles are very fine and if done right, most patients feel only a slight discomfort. Botox around the eyes is the most sensitive but this again will depend on the practitioner. MOst 1st timers choose to have numbing cream on the area to minimise the discomfort but most people have it without. Make sure you avoid having treatments nearing your monthly periods as this will increase your pain sensitivity. Hope that helps. Dr.Terry Loong Ethos Medical Director
