For many years I was an IT Manager, but then decided to help people rather then computers. They are so much more appreciative.
So I trained as a Massage Therapist at the London College of Massage, and then followed that with other treatments such as Hopi Ear Candles, Waxing and Manicures.
Mandarin Oriental Spa's are amongst my favourite spa destinations. They do everything so very well!
The Spa at the London MO is down in the basement, so you are greeted by the door staff and guided down to the Spa reception where a warm welcoming host greets you. The facilities are excellent here, and the treatments heavenly. The Time Rituals are a personal favourite - you have the time tailored to exactly what you are both looking for and also what your body needs - the therapist works with your body and skins requirements.
Highly recommended, as is the bar upstairs on a Sunday night. If you wish to make a day of it treat yourself to lunch in Bar Boulud - the piggy burger is heaven in a bun!
Two of my favourite treatments are manicures and facials, having my hands massaged is pure bliss for me! I was attending a big weekend away and so thought I would treat myself to some great looking nails and great skin - as well as the opportunity to lie back and let someone send me off to sleep (as a facial often does).
I found the salon easily enough, parked up and wandered up the reception area to be greeted by a big cheery welcome - always a good start. Manicure first, wonderful - and a great therapist who loves their job and also doesn't talk too much. We had some great conversation ... which is nicer then being talked at for 45mins as some places do!
The Eve Taylor facial (reason for choosing the salon) was awesome, the products are just amazing!
I left one chilled out happy client.
We wanted a weekend break to get away from it all, somewhere that provided everything - good rooms, good dinning, good cocktails, and a good spa. So this was our first visit to Limewood and of course Herb House Spa. We had been planning a visit for a while, but waited for the Spa to be open first.
For me a Spa experience is as much about the heat treatments and wet areas as much as it is the treatment. We were warmly welcomed by staff, checked in and given a tour of the facilities and left to relax until our treatments. The only downside of our visit was the fact that the pools (both indoor and outdoor) were closed - which was a shame as they are my fave places to unwind.
I chose to have a NUDE Facial - my first experience with the product range. The therapist was superb, with confident use of the product range and the result felt and looked amazing. If I was looking at a new skincare regime, then this is one I would definitely consider in the future.
And the Spa is somewhere I would more then happily go back and spend an afternoon - particularly if we returned to the hotel.
