I booked a treatment at this venue as I was staying overnight at the hotel. I had confirmation of my booking with me on my iPad which clearly showed that I had paid for it through Wahanda. I had also had previous correspondence with the spa confirming the appointment etc. I got to my appointment in good time and in spite of the showing the spa receptionist the confirmation she said she had to have it printed before I could have the treatment. I emailed it to the spa but as the wifi was not very good it took several attempts and a good 15 minutes was wasted. A manager had to sort the situation out and needless to say, I was feeling very annoyed and clearly the experience was ruined. I was baffled that the receptionist could not think outside the box and take the voucher after the treatment as it was only a matter of the hotel wifi kicking in so that the email could be sent to them. There was absolutely no regard for client experience. The person who was less than accommodating then turned out to be my therapist... All in all it ruined the 85 minute holistic body ritual .... Which was anything but! A very mechanical treatment as a result.
I changed from my usual salon to viva urban spa@ the village because I had a £10 discount voucher & a gift card, wow had I known before what I know now I wouldn't have bothered even if it was free!
Nice enough therapist but I her technique was terrible, she never removed hair that was clearly visible to me (after I arrived home & checked myself) so how she missed it I have no idea. They use wax & strips and then she proceeded to tell me the strips they had were rubbish so they'd received a free batch which were rubbish as she keep having to redo the same area upto 4 times.
Massively disappointed with procedure - I would have thought with it being a large chain it would have at least been a professional set up providing a well done service rathe"r than style over substance, looks nice doesn't deliver results sorry =(
