I booked a Spa Break package for my wedding anniversary in July 2018. To say the least, I was not impressed at all by Tylney Hall Hotel. Why? I hear you ask Because the Spa facility is so basic, it is essentially any other spa shop on a local high street, small and limited in what they can provide. Couples will be in different rooms so please don't call it "couples" therapy. Back massage is a joke, don't know what the therapist is rubbing at as I feel nothing... All in all a treatment I would not even pay for on my local high street. The indoor swimming pool is so small, the outdoor pool I did not try. I am not going to complain about them and their ageing look. But the jacuzzi is shocking, water temperature was just above 20C, not even 30C!? What? Jacuzzis are supposed to be 40Cish, not 20ish... So cold and none-relaxing, the hotel guy acknowledges this and said he couldn't change the water temperature..."sorry about that sir..." Sauna, it is so small, it would only fit two, I mean two men because you can't use it with your wife... Not a mixed sauna...disappointing. The room was OK, TV is tiny, bathroom is nice, bed is too soft, walls too thin. No air conditioning so the room relies on a vertical fan in hot UK summer this year, so the room is 4* hotel-ish standard, nothing to see here. The food at the dinner is nice I have to say, the service is nice, wine list is comprehensive, dishes are well done. I did enjoy the dinner and it was the nicest part of the stay, but the "relaxing Spa" part was not up to standard honestly...

Lovely hotel, all the staff were really great. The rooms could have done with a bit of a refurb though.

We chose Tylney Hall because of it's outdoor pool, but the room we had was lovely and large and the grounds are beautiful, sitting on the terrace before dinner overlooking the park was a lovely experience. The dinner was good although the chateaubriand did not live up to expectations, the scallops were beautifully cooked. Breakfast was good but service was a little disappointing - a long wait for tea and coffee and for bespoke eggs (i'd eaten the rest of my breakfast and drank the tea before the fried eggs turned up). Overall I would thoroughly recommend Tylney Hall as a lovely place to stay.

We had an amazing one night stay at Tylney Hall. The building, grounds and outdoor pool were the highlight. The swimming pool was our main reason for going while the weather has been so great. It’s rare to find an outdoor pool anywhere with such beautiful surroundings! If it was winter, I don’t think the indoor spa facilities would draw me back. The change room area especially could do with an upgrade. Also have to say that the service of all staff was exceptional (Judd deserves a special mention). If I had one suggestion, it would be to try and regulate inconsiderate people hogging the sun loungers. Guests would leave stuff on loungers and then disappear for hours meaning no one else could make use of them. Otherwise, will be back for sure!

Tylney Hall is a Grade II listed mansion with beautiful gardens of significant historic interest. Today, it’s one of England’s most comfortable and characterful country house hotels.

For summer days, the outdoor pool, tennis courts and croquet lawn compete for your attention. In winter the gym and indoor pool, which features a whirlpool, offer a more comfortable workout. There is an 18-hole golf course adjacent to the hotel. Horse riding, archery and clay pigeon shooting can easily be arranged.
