We chose this place for the spa but it turns out that the spa facilities are not what I would consider a ‘spa’. The jacuzzi is the same temperature as the pool! Seriously disappointed! I needed to soak in some hot water so took a bath in my hotel room afterwards. There are no water jets or fountains to massage you body on. And there only a handful of loungers. There is no steam room and the sauna is the size of a wardrobe. You also have to walk down a hall way between the sauna and the pool, past a snooker table which, in my case, just to happened to be full of men clucking away at the sight of me any my friend transferring from pool to sauna. So, it’s just an indoor pool with a cold jacuzzi. So, so disappointing. We only used the facilities once and for less than an hour. Not worth the eye watering money we paid for a spa break. The house is beautiful and the food was good.

Great location less than an hour on the train from London. The hotel room, restaurant and service were all lovely. The spa treatment was very good. We didn’t spend time in the facilities as the weather was great so we enjoyed the outdoors instead. Overall a lovely break.

I booked a Spa Break package for my wedding anniversary in July 2018. To say the least, I was not impressed at all by Tylney Hall Hotel. Why? I hear you ask Because the Spa facility is so basic, it is essentially any other spa shop on a local high street, small and limited in what they can provide. Couples will be in different rooms so please don't call it "couples" therapy. Back massage is a joke, don't know what the therapist is rubbing at as I feel nothing... All in all a treatment I would not even pay for on my local high street. The indoor swimming pool is so small, the outdoor pool I did not try. I am not going to complain about them and their ageing look. But the jacuzzi is shocking, water temperature was just above 20C, not even 30C!? What? Jacuzzis are supposed to be 40Cish, not 20ish... So cold and none-relaxing, the hotel guy acknowledges this and said he couldn't change the water temperature..."sorry about that sir..." Sauna, it is so small, it would only fit two, I mean two men because you can't use it with your wife... Not a mixed sauna...disappointing. The room was OK, TV is tiny, bathroom is nice, bed is too soft, walls too thin. No air conditioning so the room relies on a vertical fan in hot UK summer this year, so the room is 4* hotel-ish standard, nothing to see here. The food at the dinner is nice I have to say, the service is nice, wine list is comprehensive, dishes are well done. I did enjoy the dinner and it was the nicest part of the stay, but the "relaxing Spa" part was not up to standard honestly...
