This was an unusual Spa experience.....it was very disjointed, and the sauna outside, due to the very windy weather, the door kept opening so one of you had to keep your hand on it...and the sauna upstairs was so hot you could not sit in it. The mud experience was very enjoyable and the cedar hot tub was lovely but very cold when you got out of it as it is outside.
The hotel was pleasant, however the plates were far to hot to hold and needed at least 6 napkins whilst you served your food from the carvery and breakfast buffet,
The best thing about this hotel were the staff..... excellent greeting from Honour who was very thorough in her role and she was always on duty.....and the new lady working behind the bar, both staff were very engaging and delivered excellent customer service.
It was a nice treat before my sons wedding. I enjoyed using the hot tub however, I found it a bit uncomfortable as you could feel splinters from the wood on your back. Perhaps regular checks to help prevent this.
The mud treatment is more of a DIY treatment and not what we were expecting. We were taken into the ‘treatment room’ and given a bowl of mud and salt and had to apply it ourselves. The instructions weren’t very clear and there was no clock to time how long each step of the ‘treatment’ was lasting. Overall I wouldn’t pay for a treatment here again.
The end result however did leave our skin feeling good.
Lovely way to destress and spend an afternoon, afternoon tea was perfect way to end the afternoon
