Had a lovely night away at this hotel. We booked for the 4 poster spa package, I'd say good value for money. Room was nice, food spot on, lovely staff and service and spa treatments lovely too. This is more of a grand hotel with a quirky feel (oldie worldie) which was fine for us. Only thing I would say is spa looks abit tierd in some areas but seems it's getting abit of money spend on it as we speak, still overall lovely little break.

The food was really tasty and the room was lovely.
Very disappointed by my massage, I asked the lady to concentrate on my right side in the back massage and she concentrated on the left instead. I kept thinking she was going to go to the right any second however about 3/4 of the way through then I tralised she wasn't and I mentioned it to her, it was too late to to perky do the right side.
The spa facilities were just ok, nothing special.
None of the staff seemed to have any idea what time gym classes were on.

I also paid for her friend to accompany her as well.
They had a fantastic chill out time and really enjoyed it.

We also had the afternoon tea which was delicious. As it was a Sunday the hotel was very quiet meaning at times we had the spa to ourselves. Really lovely venue

The spa really really needs a facelift. Very shabby and dirty. The massage was good - just a shame that the surroundings really are poor.

Really lovely room- four poster- we had the recommendnight stay & it was excellent value with Dinner ,B&B & a full body massage for the two of us.
food was also great , staff helpful & would recommend a stay at the hotel.
only comment for improvement would be the shower as not powerful enough but a minor pojnt as overall stay was great.

Crowded, lack of lunch options. People stole our robes, which we put on chair whilst in pool. Very little space between pool and Jacuzzi. Lack of seats to accommodate those in the pool.

The spa was good, the massage was excellent. There was a good choice of facilities (jacuzzi, pool, steam room, sauna) but they were quite small for the numbers attending, with only four loungers to about twenty people.

The hotel food and restaurant service was excellent, but the room was poor - small and next to a noisy boiler room which disturbed our sleep.

Spa & massage was better than expected. Food was excellent. Asked for extra tea & coffee for room & this was provided immediately. Nothing was too much trouble. Room was immaculate. Will be going again.

Beautiful hotel, close to Darlington but with a rural setting. Restaurant had a good choice of dishes included in the cost of the stay. Would go back.

Throughly enjoyed my over night stay and use of facilities. My only downfall to the stay, in the package that we paid for it stated chilled bottle of wine and chocolates on arrival. We arrived and hours later still no wine and chocolate, so we asked reception where they were and they replied that we should of had them on arrival and that they would put them in our room . Later that night went back to room lovely bottle of prosecco but still waiting on the chocolates now. If both of these had been in my room on arrival then everything would of been tip top. I will stay there again and hopefully this time we get all that we paid for in the deal.
