Very disappointed with this place. The facilities were terrible. Firstly the hydrotherapy pool didn't have any water in it (why don't you have this listed)... and the jacuzzi was cold...like very cold. We told the lady at reception who didn't really seem to be interested. The relaxation room was far from relaxing. It is clearly a spare room they thought they could put a few sofas, magazines and a buddhist statue in the corner and call it 'relaxing'. The sauna and steam room had a very bad smell.

I booked this place as they displayed they had these facilities to use before/after treatments but none of them actually done the job. The treatments were ok- but overall waste of money. Outdated and over priced.

Don't go here!

The spa itself has nice facilities, though they are quite small. The pools are great. I would not recommend the lunch at the Banyan, which was disappointing, but otherwise great spa day.

Worst experience I have had at a Spa. I was given used slippers, only one shower was working and it was dirty, I had to clean it before using it.
I was given a massage before my scrub which is odd as it normally is the other way round, then left with my scrub on and had put my bath robe on top of the scrub as they didn't wash it off for me - not very comfortable.
I wasn't offered water after my treatment, and I wasn't even asked how I wanted the pressure.
Not impressed at all for a 5 star hotel I did not have a relaxing day.

Lovely staff, great treatment - facilities are a bit small and there is no possibility to grab some food or a coffee whilst remaining in your robe. The relaxation room could be a bit nicer, with nicer ambiance, beds etc as well as some beds/lounges were missing within the facilities if you just like to lie down and read a book - relaxation room did not feel too inviting with simple couches. But overall a lovely day.

The overarching theme is don't bother. Staff EXCEPTIONALLY rude, facilities tired and in need of updating and don't forget the receptionist asking if we had brought our own towels and being put out that we hadn't. On the day we visited, the jacuzzi was out of order; annoying, but these things happen. Unfortunately, the things used to fix the jacuzzi meant the entire spa was filled with strong, chemical fumes which meant we couldn't have enjoyed the rest of the facilities even if we wanted to. It was downright one of the worst places i've been to that you'd expect to be better - it is in a 5 star hotel after all! Save your money and go elsewhere.

Overall nice place. Would have been nicer if someone was there to greet us at the reception for our appointments, didn't realise we were the 1st appointments as on the treatwell app it stated in the details that the spa opened at 8:30am yet when we arrived at 9:30am we were left to wait till 10am (time of our appointment)

Describe your visit to River Wellbeing Spa at The Hotel Rafayel
Lovely hotel Spa is very small. pool is very, very small however perfect for me as I was the only person in it at the time. Unfortunately the Jacuzzi was out of order .The stem room again small but perfect as was the sauna. only 2 showers and 1 out of order. But the one that worked was great. The treatments were outstanding the teheripists was very experienced and professional. The relaxation room was nice but a little cool.

Many of the staff were not helpful and/or rude. Whilst a friend was having a treatment they had an argument outside her room which was not very relaxing.
we were told we would have 50% off food but when we got there it was only off the very expensive menu not the standard menu.
I ordered homemade soup with rustic bread which turned out to be Heinz tomato soup with 3 tiny slices of bread.
In the restaurant most of the staff did not speak good English.

The guy on reception was very attentive and made me feel welcome.
The massage was less than 30 mins, I was a little bit disappointed as I was looking forward to having a lengthy massage. The facial was long, when the lady applied the cream on my face she said she will be back in 12mins and she came almost an hour later! I think she forgot about me. It was nice to relax. The pedicure was very basic and it wasn't done to my standard.

The spa was quite hard to find, and wasn't very obvious on entering the hotel grounds where we needed to go. This was solved by asking someone and once in the Spa, the staff were very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. We were dealt with quickly and competently and taken for our treatments. We both had the massage which was really relaxing and then I had a body wrap whilst my friend had a facial. Both of us were really satisfied with our choices! My friend was thrilled with her Elemis facial and since it was a gift it was good for me that she was happy since she was visiting! The rest of the day was spent in the steam, sauna and Jacuzzi. The hydrotherapy pool was cold so we avoided that which was a bit disappointing. the relaxation room isn't very relaxing. Normally relaxation rooms have sun lounger type of seating so you can lie back and relax, but these were sofas with arms dividing it, so you couldn't really lie down and just relax and chat etc. The staff were very helpful throughout the day, ensuring we had teas and coffees and water. All in all- a hidden gem that we both loved the ambiance of!
