We visited for an “Ultimate Spa Day”. I had booked this for my sister as a birthday gift at a cost of £105 each. This included lunch and a 55 minute treatment. When I tried to contact to book the treatment, I rang in excess of 20 times and not once was the phone answered. I emailed twice before I finally got a response. On arrival, there was no parking and loads of cars were having to park on the grass verges or on the road. After driving round for over half an hour, I (and several others) had to park on double yellow lines. I told a member of staff at the spa desk (Martyn) this on arrival, he told me I should go out ASAP to move it - hardly ideal during a spa day. There was also nowhere to move it to when I checked. On booking there was a list of treatments to chose from included in the spa day package. We were told we could choose any 55 minute treatment. We had booked a hot stone massage, however was then told on arrival that hot stone massages were an extra £10! We refused to pay this having already paid £105!!! So decided to have a Swedish massage instead. Martyn walked us down to the restaurant for lunch. A member of staff came to greet us after Martyn had left and was extremely rude and patronising - saying we were in the wrong place and wouldn’t let us in the restaurant! The way he spoke was disgusting and he patronised us and was rude in front of other guests. After ringing Martyn, he realised his error and let us in. Lunch was very average. Throughout the spa day we asked several times for towels and were told there weren’t enough. We were told they were busy as the had a large wedding party. Perhaps they should have limited bookings if this was the case. Our massage (Swedish massage) was lovely. I had Katie doing my treatment and she was FAB. Overall very very average, very rude member of staff. Very disorganised and felt staff couldn’t care less. Not at all worth the £105.

Beautiful stately home building. The spa treatment was excellent so much so that we fell asleep for an hour after in the relaxation room - though that might have been helped by the glass of proseco! The only problem was they didn't have clean glasses and water in this room when we went.
