Room was nice, and steam/sauna/jacuzzi were very good. The food was also largely very nice as well.

Staff were phenomenal, friendly and helpful across the board.. Drink prices are really expensive but apart from that a great place

There's nothing specific to complain about here, but nothing was great either. The main negative is the decor of the spa, it really needs redoing, a lot of the paintwork is very old and peeling in places, and the changing facilities and toilets really need a refurb. The treatment itself was fine, as was the afternoon tea we had after, although we had to ask for the champagne we had paid for. Given how many spas there are in th North east, I think they need to up their game. It was good value for money for what we got, but the I wouldnt go back until they made a few changes.

Generally a really lovely spa break. One half of the changing facilities was very run down and needed some renovation work but the other half was good. The pool area was good but the pool itself quite small and the sauna nowhere near hot enough! The hotel and our room was lovely and the food excellent. The food at the Linden Tree pub attached was rather poor though.

A fantastic spa day spoiled by poor service at lunchtime. Our glass of fizz did not appear despite several requests. The member of staff serving us simply ignored us after a while. We were there to celebrate a special occasion so booked the Pure indulgence package but were unable to toast the occasion due to this error on the hotel's part. They were either unwilling to hand over what we paid for or were unaware of what the package offered. Both are unacceptable from a hotel of this standard.
I have contacted the hotel on several occasions over the past week but no-one has bothered to contact me. Pretty poor service to take our money and not fulfil their obligations. I will continue to try and get a response from management. Not much of a deal if you don't get all of the products promised.

Room wasn't ready on arrival, had to request welcome drink and robes. No disabled changing facilities. Evening meal in pub as thought would be more relaxed but found the whole set up shambolic and food was very average. Overall wouldn't recommend

Nice room. Friendly staff. Fantastic massage at the spa. The only let down was that I found out I'd been charged £12 a glass for the wine in the restaurant. If I were to book again i'd book the meal for the pub

Absolutely perfect. Our day could not have been better. Friendly staff, wonderful treatments and delicious afternoon tea. I would definitely recommend the Elemis face and body sensation treatment. It was divine!

Wonderful experience. Minor hiccups in that there were no robes or slippers in the room, but this was quickly resolved by the staff and there was no fruit, but we didn't bother chasing up. Food was amazing, although we didn't have the bento box lunch on day 2, because we were too full from previous evening and breakfast. All in all an amazing weekend and are already planning our next break.

Fantastic day! 2 of us had the 25 minute Elemis back massage, which was wonderful. We also had afternoon tea - the staff were amazing and catered for 1 vegan, the vegan afternoon tea was beautiful and left me feeling a bit smug rather than jealous of the scones and sandwiches (which my friend said were equally as good!). We'll definitely be back.

We arrived to be pointed in the direction of the spa. As it was quite a way from reception I would have expected to have been taken there but nevertheless we managed to find it. We were greeted by a girl after a few minutes, who did work for the spa but was possibly new or not sure of the process when people arrived for spa days. She went away to get the spa manager who did not arrive until the girl ended up having to go and find her again. We were then shown the facilities. Pool was nice, as was the jacuzz & sauna but the steam room and showers dirty, same with the floor and tiles. Granted some elements of the building are old but this isn't an excuse for dirtiness. Afternoon tea was delicious. Perfect. We then went to wait in the relaxation room where we were brought a biscuit as we had had to wait initially when we arrived, but then the therapists were slightly late on taking us for our treatment, so it was a little bittersweet. I've got to say the therapist I had was very professional and the massage was really relaxing. However, this is the 3rd day after the massage and I am in absolute agony with my neck and back. I have consulted the hotel directly about this, as I am having to visit a doctor as the pain is so bad. It was value for money but I won't be returning or recommending this to anyone.

I have been to other places but Linden was so much better. The staff were lovely, the pool was great, sauna and jacuzzi etc were fab. The people who were regulars were so friendly too. I had the back massage and it was great! I'm going back once a month.

The lunch was very nice and served in the restaurant.

We had a great day and would highly recommend.

The massage was lovely, the facilities were nice but the meal was not good value for money at all. The 'courses' were served in a tray together meaning the portions were very small. If the courses were served individually with proper size portions and maybe a glass of champagne it would have been worth the £50.
