There were four ladies who attended and the manager Nicola went out of her way to time treatments to fit in with us. the staff were friendly and did the treatments very well. We had a lovely box lunch in the restaurant afterwards. A lovely relaxing day.

Unorganised staff who needed more training, kept making errors with our rooms and sending us to a dirty one at first. Didn't try and fix the errors and buy us back to left us to be unhappy. Wouldn't go again at all!

The hotel and food were excellent. The restaurant staff were great and very accommodating of my gluten free needs.
Check in was advertised as 2pm but we had to sit in reception until 2:45pm as room not ready. Receptionist lady was lovely.
The spa young man was lovely and showed us round.
The spa was problematic from that point onwards: pool very tiny, Jacuzzi didn't work, steam room smelt of mushrooms in general it all needs refurbishing.
Changed treatment time without anyone telling us. Although not problematic it did mean we were sat wondering. One massage wasn't therapeutic it was like an amateur rubbing lotion in. The same therapist applied a face mask and left the room without informing what was going on. Unfortunately the therapist kept sniffing and the treatments were less time than advertised. My therapist was friendly but ....I ordered a hot stone massage and was told that I couldn't have one on my package. When I said it was part of my package and I had an email confirming this she said there were no hot stones available but I could have a full body massage. I have had many massages before but none like this - the details have been left out of this review but the spa is aware. As compensation I have been offered a return visit to the spa including a 30 minute treatment but I have declined. Happy to visit the hotel again but not the spa.
Hotel lovely but the spa aspect was a disaster.

Facilities could do with updating as relaxation room noisy, but staff couldn't have been more helpful or friendly and treatments and afternoon tea were lovely.

This is the second time I have been to Kilhey, the first was great-although one of the heat experience rooms was out of service. The massage and facial which my friend and I received in the couples room was spot on although I was a little concerned that my therapist had a cold and prayed it was just hay-fever. The pool was basically just ours and it was lovely and peaceful.
On our second visit we were greeted in the locker room by the girl taking the aqua aerobics class that was about to take place in the pool and she invited us to join in which was great fun. At this time there were men working in the room that had been out of order on our first visit and I thought it a bit off they were there with their workstuff lying about. I went for my treatment first which again was superb and I now think something in the room that upsets the noses of the poor therapists and she was sniffing too somewhat. It wasn't the most peaceful room, it sounded like someone was having a meeting in the room next door, they weren't, but that's what it sounded like. What I think it really was was my friend chatting to a really nice member of staff as she had got a bit wary of being in the now deserted pool area with the workmen carrying on with their stuff behind the loungers.
Lunch was very nice both times, a healthy salmon bento box with eton mess, nom.
We then returned to the pool the baby swim class had started and the parents were using the chairs and unfortunately the workmen were using the loungers as work benches. We gave up at this point as there was no chance of relaxing now and this rather spoilt the end of our day. I think we should have been warned about this before we got there.
We might go back as it is good value for money and the staff in both the spa and hotel are lovely, we shall see!!

I booked a package deal for a weekend away with my partner. Upon arrival we was amazed by the beautiful buildings and surroundingsx. As we arrived to our room i was disappointed to find that the bottle of prosecco i had paid for and the fruit wasn't there. The view out of our window was a moss brick wall.
When we went down for our evening meal we was given a set menu which i was not informed about at the time of booking so i was very disappointed with that. Then we was charged £4.95 for a bottle of water. The food is excellent but i would have liked more choice.
The shower in our room took over 5mins to warm up and it has no power behind it at all.
The spa is beautiful the staff are fantastic but the second you go down stairs to the small swimming pool your relaxed mood changes. It could do with up dating.
Overall our stay was nice and i think i would return just not for a spa weekend. I dont think i got great value for money.

Enjoyable and relaxing. Only negative was that we weren't very keen on the boxed lunch we received. Everything else was fine

The evening meal was fantastic. We were offered the option of 3 courses from the market menu (which did look very nice but neither of us really like desserts) or £25 towards the a la carte menu and it was amazing. I couldn't fault it. Great selection of wines too. Not cheap but I was happy to spend the money for the quality. The room was very comfortable with a bit of a retro feel. Everything you could need. The cooked breakfast was somewhat of a disappointment, I was gobsmacked they charge guests £17.50 for it! I've had better from weatherspoons but it did the job just fine and the continental buffet did make up for it a little. The spa staff were very friendly and made us feel at ease. The massage was brilliant! The actual spa facilities were not out of this world but a relaxing walk around the reservoir in the grounds made the day perfect. I would definitely book this package again and recommend to friends.
