Spa treatment was amazing, though a little delayed starting, as the previous person was late, but it was one of the best massages I've ever had and my girlfriend said it was the best she's ever had. There were 2 large hen parties there when we were, so the spa and pool areas were quite busy. The facilities were really good, there was a herbal sauna which I've never seen before and an ice scrub barrel. One of the foot baths didn't work when my girlfriend tried it, but I'm not sure if that was because it was too full. The tour of the spa at the start was nice, but we felt that showing us inside the relaxation room stopped it being fully relaxing for those in there, as they keep getting interrupted by tours. It would have been better to just say this is the relaxing room when you get to the door without going in. There could be more chairs/loungers round the pool, as the pool was very busy when we were there. We bought lunch in the spa which was ok, but overpriced.

We should have been able to check in at 3pm, but when we went to check in at 4 the room still wasn't ready, so we waited in the bar and bought a drink (would have been nice if the drink was free, seeing as we should have been able to check into our room an hour ago, but it wasn't). There was no bar staff for about 10 minutes too, but he apologised for the wait when he got there, so we didn't mind that. We got into our room at half 4 which was clean and tidy. My girlfriend wasn't impressed with the fruit bowl, as it only had one strawberry, one plum, one banana, one apple and one tangerine, she thought there would have been more strawberries for our prosecco. The mirror in the bathroom is heated so it doesn't fog up, that was clever.

The evening dinner had VERY slow service, we got in at 8 and we finished at after 10, considering it wasn't busy as well was strange that food took so long. The starters and Mains were really enjoyable and tasty, my girlfriends desert was nice too. But my desert, the chocolate mouse, was terrible, it wasn't light and fluffy it was thick and lumpy.

Slept well, breakfast was great and good service. Checkout no problem.

Reception could have been better. Seemed a bit confused but apologetic and friendly. Manager was very attentive.
Bit of a mixup with times of treatments but not a problem. Staff always available to deal with questions and very helpful. Refreshments not kept topped up but overall very clean, comfortable and relaxing spa.

Lovely new facilities at the spa, although the hotel was a little tired in comparison it was still a lovely stay :)

The venue was lovely, gym was small but well equipped and pool was good. The Heat Experience was not very warm at all (coldest sauna I have been in) and the ice machine wasn't working. The bad experience was when we turned up, as instructed, 5 minutes before our allotted treatment time and waited. And waited! Twenty minutes after our treatment time we asked a member of staff why we hadn't had our treatment yet. We got no apology or explanation as to why they had clearly forgotten about it, but did eventually get the treatment. Which was a disappointment. The mud was badly mixed and watery, the rasul sauna barely rose above room temperature and the rasul treatment room doesn't have a lock on which meant anyone can (and indeed did) just wander in - not great when you are scantily clad and covered in mud!
Then we had the light lunch which was part of our deal. The food was okay, but it turns out they don't include a drink as part of the "light lunch" and we were charged over £8 for a cup of coffee and a cup of tea!
I think its safe to say we won't be back.

The location is beautiful and even the deluxe room is huge (especially for a 1 night stay). Dinner was good but not impressive, except for the cheesecake which was amazing! Buffet for breakfast including continental and full English so that everyone is happy. The staff is super kind, polite and willing to help.

As for the spa, the swimming pool could be a bit warmer and should be cleaned more often. The sauna rooms and steam room are really nice and quite spacious. Lockers are provided for free as well as towels, showers and hair dryers. There is also a swimsuit dryer so that you don't need to worry about dripping water into your bag.

I had a full body hot stone massage which was amazing and I'd happily choose it again. The relaxation room is just perfect to give you some time to snuggle on a chaise longue after the treatment.

Overall, I have recommended it to most of my friends and I would definitely go back.

I booked the spa as a treat for my husbands birthday as a surprise. Firstly, I would like to say we really enjoyed your facilities, they were of a very good standard and very clean.

However, my husband was very disappointed with his massage. My husband was really looking forward to his massage. Steph was his therapist, we both completed forms regarding our skin and firmness of massage, my husband asked for firm to very firm pressure. My husband during the massage asked Steph on two occasions to be firm and to go deeper with the massage and she did not. My husband in the end thought that there was no point in telling her again.

Later on that afternoon we were asked how our day was going so my husband mentioned that he was a little disappointed with his massage. I wouldn't normally give the feedback as I felt that there was no point due to the therapist being the manager but the receptionist was adamant that all feedback is good.

I would not have normally have said anything but due to it being my husbands birthday I feel really disappointed for him as my massage was great. I would have gone to a different spa if I had known that the massage would not have been satisfactory I would not have come for the day. On a positive note my massage was with Hayley and it was truly amazing, she listened to all my concerns and worked really hard to ensure that all my knots were taken out.

In addition to all the above I have emailed all the above to the leisure manager on two occasions after being given the email address and I have still not received a response. We visited on 1st Feb 2016, due to not receiving a response I felt I was not given any other option but to leave this review.

Me and my mum came here for a relax and refresh spa day as a treat for her birthday, and we were more than impressed! The decor throughout is absolutely stunning i wanted to take all the furnishings home with me!! Our spa day included lunch and although the menu was very small it was a nice selection and was a lovely light lunch that made us feel rejuvenated rather than stuffed. The glass of fizz was a great way to celebrate my mums birthday too! And it was lovely sitting overlooking the pool and open space behind the building. My only niggle would be that when I rang after I made the booking I was told I could choose the treatments we wanted on the day, which was ideal because it was a surprise for my mum and I wasn't telling her until the morning the we were going however when we got there they had booked us in for our treatments anyway. I explained that to the lady and she was extremely nice and apologetic and offered to see if we could swap our treatments but we did not bother, and thoroughly enjoyed the treatments we had none the less! Overall this experience was an absolute delight, it was the perfect day for my mum to relax and everyone was so nice. I must also say Jess who did my massage and facial was ever so friendly and the facial was unbelievable. Could have happily lay there for days. We will definitely be returning and would most definitely recommend this gorgeous spa!!!

This was my second visit to Craxton Wood and it was as good as I remembered. The spa is new and modern, the food was lovely (service is a little slow but we were relaxed so didn't mind), and the staff were very friendly. The two relaxation rooms are a highlight, we spent ages snuggled under blankets reading. There's no jacuzzi but the pool is a decent size so you can have a proper swim. My massage was also very good. I've already booked my next visit - an overnighter this time.

The venue was beautiful and naturally relaxing. The back massage was not 30 minutes. I was in there for just about 20 and everything felt very rushed. My friend had a facial and said that was great though. We both had a manicure, the polish came off my nails the next day so i was not impressed with that. Very clean, some facilities like one of the foot spas was broken. The food is very pricey so i would suggest you try and get a package that includes something. I would perhaps return but most certainly have different treatments. Have been to much better spas!
