The worst salon experience I ever had.
So I bought a Men - Hair Colouring, Wash, Haircut & Blow Dry Men's Hair Colouring and gonna review all of these processes
First of let's start that my biggest mistake was asking for the hairdresser to recommend me stuff and do what he thinks will looks best. Very big mistake... My only direction was that I want a handsome classy look that matches my features (blonde, very pale, blue eyes, sharp features, fine hair)
The hair colour. So this is the worst part. I asked what hair colour would suit me. I came in being light blonde, a bit brassy since I stopped using a Toning shampoo since I knew I'm getting my hair coloured. So I was recommended either mocha or Ash blonde. Mocha I have never done before and didn't really want to go from blonde to brown, so I chose Ash blonde, which I have done many times, and usually that means I'm getting a cool blonde colour. So basically I couldn't really tell how my hair looked after the colouring since the salon had very poor lighting, but once I stepped outside and went to other places that had mirrors, I was disappointed to say at least. My hair was dark Ash with purple undertones. I mean I don't know what person looks handsome and classy with that sort of hair colour when they are 23 years old (mind I'm not an artistic person at all and don't give that vibe). So yeah the hair colour basically looks like a joke and not flattering at all
The cut. So I wouldn't say I got a cut, I got a 5-10minutes trim that basically looks meh. I haven't had a haircut in over half a year so my hair was fairly long (was not short even after the previous cut) , so there was definitely a lot that could have been done with that, but yeah I got a trim, which is probably good since at least I didn't get something that I couldn't change. Nothing was flattering about this cut, very odd sides. I usually get my hair cut in the London School of Barbering for free, which I would go for any day of the week, since actually not once have I got a bad cut
The Blow Dry. I have had many blow dries because of work in my life, but in a salon I only got it once before for a special event, and that looked awesome. I'm not sure what is the definition of a male blow dry, but here I basically got my hair dried, no hair do or styling done whatsoever.
So I really wouldn't recommend going here if you want the stylist to give you a look that suits you (what's advertised on the package I bought) , since I got none of that, I basically look like a joke and am very annoyed.
Edit: I went back to the salon after 2 hours, since I just looked ridiculous and was pissed of for getting my hair looking random and paying 70 quid for that. So the hair dresser that did my hair said he did what he recommended, which I agree, but the thing is his recommendations look unflattering...
I was then offered to fix my hair by a different stylist. Of course my hair couldn't be coloured again since it was done a few hours ago and that would just ruin the hair. So I got my hair washed with a clearing shampoo, which did a small change in terms of the greyness, so that's nice. That I got my sides slightly trimmed. And then comes the blow dry/styling... I Showed them how I want it style and they just said that my hair is too fine and that's not really possible, while I had that sort of styling many times and know the what can and can't be done out of my fine hair. Anyway, then I said to do something voluminous, and in the start with blow drying my hair it looked promising, but after 20 Mins of styling they decided to just slick my hair, which I didn't understand... Like if that's your vision of styling then take some wax, slide it through my hair and call it a day, really no need to fan it with a hot blow dryer for 20 mins😔🙄
My conclusion is that this is a woman's salon, since the 2 hairdressers seam to have little clue about styling men's hair, and even the cut technique was odd.
I would really recommend getting better lighting and maybe getting a hairdresser/barber that has more qualification in men's hair.
Very nice first experience at this salon. The lady that did my nails was professional and friendly. The salon in itself is nice. I only wish there were more gel nail polish colours available to choose from, there were not that many and the colors were quite similar. Apart from that I would definitely get my nails done there again.
