Quite good value for money. Facilities slightly disappointing and food had limited choice.

Was disappointed by the size of the swimming pool and spa area. Very small compared to the size of the hotel. Three course dinner included for 2 nights but no vegetable offered? Literally served a steak on its own. Desert was also still frozen and inedible. Wifi did not work in our room which was very cold and we had to request a heater. Staff very pleasant but seemed unable to deal with the issues we had. Reception area very welcoming but room was disappointing, tatty and in need of refurbishment.

We thoroughly enjoyed our Spa day on Saturday. The staff were excellent, nothing was too much trouble. The facilities were ok. There wasn't much room around the pool and chairs/loungers were very limited especially as there were quite a few people on Spa days and hotel guests. Perhaps a rethink on the numbers would help?
The bar staff didn't seem to understand the meal voucher side of things so perhaps a bit of communication/training would help. Saying that, the food was really tasty, we can recommend the ham, egg & chips.

We had a lovely weekend stay and it was really relaxing. The steam room was being renewed so not available which was a shame.

Staffwere exceptional from the greeting at the front desk to the restaurant to the spa staff. Room was well equipped and comfortable. Spa was lovely except the steam room was out of action and we were not warned in advance by last minute. The steps into the jacuzzi were difficult for me as too high (or deep!)
Special mention for the waitress; so helpful and fun too.
Breakfast staff were over stretched and service was slow.

I booked a spa break which included a free facial I phone the hotel to check they had availblity in the spa for the facials before I booked online only to be told they couldn't fit me in until late the following day. I did get the impression that as it was a 'free' treatment included in the package they didn't see it as a priority. I also booked a full body massage through treatwell as part of this stay and received confirmation of the time I had booked after calling the hotel to check availblity only to again be told they weren't able to honour my booking until a different time late the following day. Overall not impressed with the service the front desk staff were very rude over the phone and made me feel very uncomfortable about asking for the treatments I had paid for. It wasn't the stress free relaxing break I had planed.

The restaurant was very unorganised, every course of our dinner we were rushed and at breakfast they didnt keep the juice dispensers full waiting at least 10min every 15mins for someone to refill these even water.

Due to an error between treatwell and the hotel we couldnt have our treatments on the day of our stay but instead had to have them the following morning which doesnt in my opinion full under the spa overnight stay experience. I experienced a very frustating 2 weeks constantly speaking to both parties and didnt feel looked after and no polite apologies or compensation or complimentary elements were offered to alter my opinion.

The treatments were amazing but the customer service wasnt, we all felt rushed out of the room, were not offered water and this dismissed any relaxing feel made by the treatment. Also had to walk through the gym where people are working out to get to the gym which didn't make the experience feel very private or relaxing.

The pool area is very small, its an ok pool for a hotel but not when offering a relaxing spa weekend.

I wont be using treatwell again or the Basingstoke Apollo Hotel.

Staff lovely. Downside changing rooms are tiny, only 2 showers. In general not as much as you would expect from a 4 star hotel. We all wanted the same colour manicure but only 1 was allowed!!! Deal included prosecco which we had to fight for, and 2 of the 3 meals were incorrect in some way meaning we all dined individually as did the table next to us!! All in though for the price we paid it was value for money.

I asked for a double instead of a twin bed and they forgot to connect. They had no fresh towels for using the Spa. The towels on the massage table table were wet so not fresh either. Which is very unhygenic in my opinion. Definately not a four star hotel.

Sadly I was a little disappointed form my visit to Horizons Health and Beauty Spa. It was a young girl who carried out my treatment and whilst she was nice and chatty, she wasn't the most professional, loudly announcing my arrival for a wax infront of a male colleague who wasn't part of the spa team.
The spa it's self is also a strange layout, we clients having to walk through the centre of a busy gym before reaching the treatment rooms.
Unfortunately the actual was treatment wasn't the best either, I left with a rather patchy wax... However I appreciate I should have expressed that I wasn't satisfied at the time.

Loved the staff and the massage was really really nice. I've been on a few spa days and this isn't what i'd expect from a 'destination' spa day. The whole day seemed to be us thrown in with a hotel guests, businessmen having meetings, and people who are members.

The massage was great, lovely woman was very skilled and knew what she was doing. The beds were heated which was a bonus, and the music was very calming and relaxing. However, I could hear the treadmills and gym activity, and music all the way though the massage, as I'd had to walk through the gym to get treatment room.

The 'manicure' was done in the same treatment room, using the same towel which covered my body during the massage, as a sort of nail rest/desk thing, and it was not on an actual manicure, it just a nail paint, with no pushing of cuticles, filing or actual manicure involved.

Lunch was included so when it came to lunch we were excited, and unfortunately were disappointed when we were asked to go into the hotel bar, in our robes, which was a very big juxtaposition against the well dressed business people having meetings. However, the voucher entitled you to £13 on the menu, which bought us a very generous steak sandwich was lovely. Again, brilliant service from the bar staff, and lovely food.

The changing room was very small and cramped, and once again we were thrown in with the members, elderly, mums with their children, with no real relaxation and calm.

There was no relaxation room, so once we were done in the gym, pool, and treatment, there was nowhere to go other than to leave.

Overall, it was a very good treatment, and was great value for money, yet I wouldn't return for a relaxing, destination spa day.
