The stay was brilliant, facilities were great the only thing that let it down was waiting times at the, stand in line for 20 mins to half hour then your drink order gets forgotten and you wait half hour.

The spa was lovely, had a really nice treatment, and the ladies were a pleasure to talk to.
However, the restaurant was absolutely appalling. In the evening we had to ask a total of 4 time to turn off the Air Con as it was extremely cold. Staff would come over and take out order for food and more drinks, and leave dirty plates and glasses on our tables.

The morning for breakfast ruined the whole weekend for us. As we were being shown to our table BY THE MANAGER, he was stopped by another guest to advise there were NO food left. He smiled and carried on showing us to our table, we must of walked past 5 empty tables with dirty plates on. Did this manager turn back and urgently clean away there tables? No, he just stood at the entrance waiting for more guests to appear. By this time, the queue for the hot food was ridiculous, as everyone was waiting for the hot food to be filled back up. We decided to join the queue, and when we got to the front, oh there's no bacon or hash browns left. We informed the staff to be told, it will only be a minute, get the rest of your breakfast on your plates and it will be ready. So there's us, piling on our breakfasts, to then have to stand there waiting for 5 minutes for bacon. By this time, as you can probably imagine, my food was cold. So I had to get back into the queue. Luckily this time, I could fill my plate up, but when i got to the toaster, there was no bread. I notified a member of staff, again, I just gave up as I didn't want another plate full to go cold. When I walked back to my table, to my absolute SHOCK, the tables we walked past when we entered were still not cleaned. How do you expect your guests to enjoy their breakfasts whilst sat next to other people's dirty leftovers?

The manager was the poorest excuse of a manager I have honestly ever set eyes on. You seriously need to put him through a customer service review.

This weekend was a wedding gift to us, so thank you for ruining a good weekend, that should of been stress free and a relaxing getaway for myself and my husband.

First of all booking it was a nightmare. It took me 3 days
, 6 calls and about half an hour being put on hold. I've been here twice before and it's always been a pleasurable experience. I loved the spa facilities. Something for everyone. Massage was amazing. The staff really do know what they are doing and are very catering to specific needs. Well worth the money. Even better as there was a discount because we were staying at the hotel. Disabled access into the pool was non existent and my husband found it difficult to get into the pool using the steps. Jumping in was not an option as it's a relatively deep pool and a long way down. I think this really needs to be addressed. Other than this, wonderful time. Really enjoyed ourselves

Describe your visit to Health Club & Spa at Hallmark Hotel Gloucester

Arrived for my massage ten mins early, filled out the form and was asked if I wanted to change, seeing as there were no dressing gowns that would of meant me sitting in reception in bikini and wrapped in a towel so declined. Taken to a room that was similar to a doctors surgery! Clinical trolley with lotions on, painted plain beige, no aroma or mood lighting.kitchen area and massage bed in the middle. Not overly warm, really disappointing. Undressed in there and redressed after-no option of having a shower to rinse off all the oils (unless I walked past the gym and reception wrapped in a towel) therapist was lovely and massage itself very good. On exit given a paper cup of water and directed back to my room! Just as well I was staying or would of been back to the car (could of used the pool at this point I guess) used the pool and sauna later in the day, warm but didn't look overly clean and didn't like that there were five cameras pointing at the pool which could be seen by everyone in reception. I wouldn't recommend this place, purely because of the facilities. What was good was that on booking out my massage hadnt been added to the bill! £60 but fortunately for them my partner is a honest person. Sorry

Booked a luxury spa break but ended up leaving after 30mins in the hotel. The room was tiny and covered in dust, the nets fell down and we were right near the front reception in full view of the car park. There were no robes available at all and the noise coming from the pool area which was full of children was so loud we didnt even bother entering, unsure how anyone could relax in there. So disappointed.

What a disappointment!. The facilities are probably good but the experience was far from it. Staff ignored us on arrival, then left us waiting for 20 minutes. We were only shown around when we requested a tour, by the person who did my massage (it wasn't actually her job to do this). We were refused tea by two members of staff, even though it was included in the package. We only achieved it after we spoke to the manager. When I asked him to investigate our experience, and respond to me, he told me to contact him in a 'couple of days'. I contacted the Hallmark website to ask for an email to submit a complaint and guess what, they have not replied. Shame, could be so good!!

Had a really great time in the spa - a facial, pedicure and waxing - all with different therapists and all were great, especially mad Pixie, who made me laugh out loud!

Spa facilities fairly basic.
We had treatments booked as part of a package- there was difficulty establishing what treatments were included on booking over the telephone prior to arrival. On arrival my sister was given a 25 min treatment instead of a 55 min treatment. On complaining afterwards she was then booked in for a mini manicure the following day which should have been 25 min but ended up being 10-15 mins max. I had a facial which was a better experience but seemed to include 10 mins worth of fairly basic hand massage- head or shoulder would have been a lot better.

We had late check in by 50 minutes but they upgraded us, gave us a few extra drinks fro free and late check out + gowns and slippers.
Restaurant service was very slow so had a rocky start, but we just grabbed the waiters' attention so it wasn't too bad.
The beauty salon where we had our couple massage was lovely, the swimming pool and spa bit was great, and pretty accessible.
Some of the bar staff were unaware of the lunch offer menu so we almost had to pay for lunch - so all in all, if staff training was better and the service wasn't so slow, this place would be even better.

Booked a spa weekend away, they had no disabled room, no lifts whatsoever, couldn't fit us in for spa treatments (we were not advised to pre book, this is our very first spa weekend we have ever done) the duty manager was miserable and in helpful. Food was lovely when it arrived. If it wasn't for 2 staff members we would have left there and then. There is no disabled access to the spa treatments we had to use the deliveries entrance and that was down an EXTREMELY steep hill. Never again will I use this hotel again.
