Not a great overall experience am afraid, room was poor, spa changing rooms dirty untidy. Evening meal was terrible no flavour and steak was the same size as a 99p pork chop, the chicken was of no value too. Day I arrived we were not even booked ineven though I called a week before to confirm, the massage wasn’t booked in correctly, very unprofessional for a business. Dirty room crack causing draft in window. The only positive about this hotel was the young lady on the front desk bent over backwards to sort everything out to ensure the stay was enjoying, she was a credit to the business.
When telephoning to book treatments man on phone gave phone to another man. Who then says loudly to me 'what's your issue?' I said 'pardon' he repeated and I said I want to book treatments, he then hugged and puffed about it. I eventually received email confirmation day before stay which had wrong treatments and time. So I had had to phone back which I was dreading! Upon arrival spa reception smelt musty and not usual relaxing smells associated with a spa. No one in reception or staff nearby. No signs of where to get to pool in changing room! Signs to say from 15/1 mixed sex changing rooms! Pool was fine, so was sauna and steam room but gets quite busy. Facial was average but couldn't really relax as piano music cd was annoying.
The staff were really pleasant and very helpful in explaining how the spa works etc. The treatments were excellent and relaxing. The only down side was that there was no air con in room, although there were fans it was very hot and sometimes uncomfortable.
The treatment was lovely but changing rooms and swimming area need refurb, it lets the main part of the hotel down. Note there was a notice to say the changing rooms were getting a refurb
We bought the simple spa package break with lastminute.com. The spa break advertised (and still does), one nights stay, one treatment, evening meal, and breakfast. We were unable to get a treatment as they were fully booked weeks in advance (we booked our package approximately one week in advance, so a treatment would have been impossible to book). My confirmation email did not state a breakfast, so we asked at reception and they confirmed that breakfast was not included (even though still being advertised on lastminute.com). Check in states 2pm, reception states 3pm. The hotel and staff were nice and the evening meal was lovely, but this is a simple case of false advertising and would like to be compensated for the parts of the package me and my girlfriend did not receive.
