The price of the massage was high end, so I was expecting great things. I had emailed ahead to make sure I received a deeper massage than just an aromatherapy type massage, however the therapist had not been made aware of this!? However she did adapt my massage but it was not the premium experience I had been hoping for because;
- the room was small and too hot
-whole body massage but did not include face/head, so was left feeling unfinished
-no ambience, no relaxing music or sensory smells
- 1 hour booked, therapist arrived 5 minutes late to collect me and I was finished and out of the room at the original time, so take into consideration getting undressed/dressed etc massage probably only 45 minutes top.
I should have been charged even more for the deeper massage but no-one prompted me too and I'm glad they didn't because of the reasons given.

I had a lovely spa day at Frederick's - my massage was very relaxing, the cream tea was wonderful (and very generous!) and I enjoyed the steam room and sauna. The staff were all very friendly and it was a lovely touch to have a personalised locker in the changing room. I would have preferred the pool to have been a little warmer but overall I enjoyed the day very much and will definitely book another visit.

A lovely spa, however me and my friend didn't enjoy the treatment, the music was so low all I could hear was a clock ticking, the massage techniques need a lot of improvement I couldn't wait to get off the bed, wasn't relaxing at all.

Weather was wonderful and I had a full day's use of the facilities so got to spend the afternoon in a chaise lounge by the pool. Treatments were lovely

On our arrival, the receptionist kindly informed us that the pool will be out of use due to smashed glass however we could use the rest of the spa. Me and my husband really enjoyed staying at this hotel, there was nothing really to fault, Dinner was lovely but very small portions, they also still managed to fill us up! Also they have gluten free bread :) breakfast was ok, but again very small portions. We then got upgraded from the spa receptionist to a one hour massage instead of half an hour due to not being able to use the pool. I really enjoyed my massage however my husband said that his massage didn't push enough pressure even though he hold the lady about 2 times to make the massage harder. After the massage they bring you a small plate of fruit and a horrible ice tea, I was very shocked that they didn't have a tea or coffee machine for the guests to use nor any water available. However overall I would give this hotel a 4 star as its clean and has very friendly staff.

There was quite a few problems with the timings of my booking. This wasn't agreed prior to me arriving despite trying to sort.

The therapist was lovely but I'd say average with the actual treatments - one simple way for improving would be to prep the room before hand and to have some calming music in the background like 99% of spa treatment rooms have. That way you don't notice when the therapist starts yawning etc.

It would also be good to be able to have had our treatments at the same time - obviously with one and then the other going you actually don't see each other for 3 hours which isn't the idea really of taking a friend to a spa day.

The pool was lovely

The food was average - again the setting needs considering - music and feel rather than just feeling like you are stuck in the corridor which essentially we were.

Overall it was a nice day - but on the expensive side for the type of treatment we received.

Great location from the M4. Parked near the "Spa" signs but nearest entry door locked so had to walk all the way through the hotel through a maze of corridors. Staff helpful when signing in. A bit of a challenge when ordering drinks and food as the staff member didn't seem to know what a sparkling rose is despite them only having one.There were a few times where I got the impression that the staff members didn't really listen or care when asking you questions e.g. about where you would want lunch or when we asked for drinks/bread. They appeared to not be that happy and wanting to be somewhere else. Having said that the massage was good. The location wasn't too busy and the massage was relaxing despite there being a wedding party almost next door it seemed. Enjoyed the facilities but let down by the drink/food service.

Lovely peaceful venue, I liked that it was smaller because I went midweek and most of the time had the facilities all to myself. Lunch was lovely as well. They could have thrown in the cup of tea I had in the afternoon for free but that's just a petty moan. I have already told my friends about Fredericks and fully intend to return.
