Friendly and relaxed atmosphere perfect for a Sunday morning
Very unfortunate experience here. Booked by phone but they had no record of my appointment when I showed up. They were kind enough to fit me it, but although I was supposed to have my hair cut by a more experienced person (Christina, I think?), I was left with someone who, although was very friendly and nice, did not speak much English and seemed inexperienced (her reaction was one of alarm when she was asked to do my hair). I was not asked until after my hair was washed what I wanted done, so she did not even see what my hair looked like or discuss the style with me. I was asked only 2 questions during the cut - 'How much?' and 'layers?', so was very anxious throughout! She seemed to be confident cutting, but layers were very haphazardly chopped. Due to the language barrier, I also seemed to accidentally agree to having the front of my hair feathered - something I haven't had since about 2004! On top of this, it took several attempts to get the lengths on each side of my face. At one point she checked the length, laughed and commented 'asymmetrical!' - not what you want to hear from your hairdresser. She did do a great blowdry and managed to get my naturally curly hair nice and straight with some movement without the use of straighteners, which I always appreciate. Overall, the cut looks okay, but is not what I would have asked for. Although I appreciate them honouring my appointment time despite having no record of it, I think I would have preferred to come back another time and had my hair cut by someone I could communicate better with (the first question I was asked by the hairdresser was 'Do you speak Spanish?' so I imagine if I could have I might have had a better time). I think this is an isolated experience, so I wouldn't say no to going back as the staff were friendly and the salon was nice and conveniently located. I would perhaps just ask for an email confirmation of my booking!
Haircut was fine, though my hairdresser didn't speak any English at all. So, although I just wanted a trim with a straight cut I ended up getting a lot of layers (about 7cm difference from the longest to shortest sections). I feel like a throwback from 2003. I'm not one to cry about haircuts (it'll grow...) but I think people should be aware that not everyone at this salon speaks English so there may be some communication issues.
Christina did a fantastic job with the Brazilian treatment, she was very knowledgeable on the product and completed the treatment quickly and efficiently.
Was a bit late starting (20 mins after appointment) but the haircut was superb.
