I was really disappointed with my spa day, there was a painter scrapping paint off at the entrance to the steam room so this was out of use. Facial was the weirdest I've ever had. Lunch we were sat at coffee tables so I couldn't sit straight with my legs under the table. This was bought as a xmas present for my sister & I , left feeling embarrassed that I'd chosen this spa.

The staff were friendly and food delicious . The spa itself was a bit tired in places but we were told it is about to have a refitt . We had a lovely relaxing day.

The scalp massage was ok, however the staff member was sniffing and breathing all over me, I would rather she stepped outside to blow her nose than breath all over me and not pay attention to what she was doing. Nor did she ask me whether the pressure was ok etc.
The food in the hotel part was shambolic, the waiter was getting angry because they were short-staffed. The food itself was pretty tasteless and not worth the money that they ask for it.
The spa facilities were good, however and the changing room facilities excellent.

I spent two nights at the Lygon Arms. The spa package was brilliant value and the treatments (I had a facial and a full body massage) were wonderful. I would definitely recommend it and I will visit again.

The restaurant staff were really friendly & helpful as were the beauty therapists. The spa treatments were amazing!

The hotel is tired & in need of refurbishment & the spa even more so.

This was my fourth trip to this spa, it's a really lovely hotel with decent spa facilities and the morning booster spa is good value for money. The changing room leads to a small sauna - perfect for two but probably not many more. Then there is a decent sized steam room, that could do with a hint of eucalyptus to reduce the sweaty feet smell, and the pool is very nice but a bit on the cool side for me. Sadly, some of the facilities are starting to be a bit tired, with the jacuzzi was out of order, the shower facility outside the steam room a bit broken and the shower in the changing room difficult to turn off. None of these factors spoilt my experience. I had a lovely therapist for my facial and I felt as though my treatment was tailored not just bog standard. Lunch was fab, my friend and I very much enjoyed the game pie and soup combo, drinks are typically expensive from the hotel bar but again nothing you wouldn't expect from a posh hotel in the Cotswolds. All in all I had a great morning and I would go back.

The spa facilities were very limited and only consisted of one tiny sauna where two people maximum fit in and the one steam room smelled horribly of feet and didn't seem very clean. Then there was only one jacuzzi and swimming pool. It was all very basic and not really worth the money we paid. The back and neck massage was okay but the scalp massage wasn't really a massage at all but more of a pressure pointing "massage".
I have had better before for the same amount of money, I have to say unfortunately. Though the lunch (a burger and chips) and the atmosphere and little village Broadway was absolutely stunning and staff were very friendly.
I wouldn't say I would go back there sadly, only to visit the little village and maybe stay in the hotel.

A perfect location with a special ambience. Dinner menu was special too! Spa is small, but treatments good and staff attentive.

Sadly this hotel disappointed on many levels. The spa is tired and out of date, there is no flow or professional set up, lots of wasted space and the quality of the facilities is dire! This place clearly rests on its laurels as being a period property in the cotswolds but it fails to provide a standard expected, especially offering 'spa breaks'. The spa lacked any tranquil spa quality at all, with young guys managing reception who didn't have a clue about what the spa offered (when we asked about purchasing a nail polish). The therapy bed I was given was so narrow my arms couldn't comfortably lie on the bed next to me, I was led on dispoable tissue you find in a doctors surgery and when I placed my face in the bed head support for my massage, i was greeted with rusty metal supports, plugs and dusty wires. The music in the room was fast violin classical, not at all relaxing and the covers for my body lacked quality. The pool was very cold, possibly for swimmers but in no way relaxing for the majority of the people who had come to enjoy what was supposed to be a relaxing break. The changing rooms were old and too small and required a pound coin for the lockers. The robes provided were tired and past their best and there wasn't a relaxation room with suitable refreshments - the two room/area's they offered had old settees and a pool table (!!) with cocacola illuminated fridges, offering cheap fruit juice from a carton, which you poured into small white plastic cups. The tea and coffee machine with its paper cups looked like something you would have been greeted with in a run down travel lodge and the water dispenser tasted like it hadnt been cleaned in a while.

They filed to tell us on booking, that we could only have the treatments included (in the one day reinvent spa package) on the sunday (as we booked to stay Saturday to Sunday) and at the only time available (11am), which luckily for them, we could stay for, however, the treatment itself was mediocre apart from the facial massage, which lasted about 7 minutes. They had decided in their infinite wisdom to put the manicure station right outside the treatment rooms so any relaxation you had intended was quashed by people talking. My friends treatment was rough and not very professional and later she discovered the therapist had extra long finger nails, whilst she also attempted to manicure hers but failing to remove all of her 'old' nail polish before applying the new one!
The room was a very small twin room, in need of a refurb - there was no DVD player or access to purchasing movies on the TV. The tea and coffee facilities were basic and limited. No fridge or mini bar. When we requested a DVD player and films to watch, they looked surprised and had to dust them off in reception, presenting an old box of movies that they claimed 'no one ever asks for'. We had pre-booked our dinner in the 'Great Hall', which was also included and the food was ok but not as 'fine dining' as they like to present but they had also failed to make us aware that half the menu had supplements, if you had booked a discounted break (DDB), so when you thought you were getting a good deal, in fact they made up their extra costs with charges.
When we were checking out there were two disgruntled guests trying to check in, one of whom was very annoyed at the problems she had booking her two rooms (from another website) and had even had to make special arrangements with the manager, who wasn't there at present and hadn't communicated this information with the staff?!

This hotel is in need of a serious refurbishment and a large investment to call itself a spa break hotel. If they invested as much in the spa and rooms as they do their dining experience (lots of very attentive staff in the great hall) then it has the potential to be a beautiful hotel. Thankfully the very friendly staff made up for a little of what lacked in the other areas but by no means did it provide the full package.

As you can guess we shall not be staying in this hotel again unless it gets taken over by more competent management and has some serious investment in it.

We are four girls who bought a Spa break to include 1 x 60 minute treatment, dinner bed & breakfast.
Not the most amazing Spa, but excellent value for money. Would go again, and would recommend.

Had a lovely morning spa booster with a friend. Treatment and venue was lovely and staff were very friendly and helpful. Only negative was the pool being quite cold and the jacuzzi wasn't very powerful. However, overall was a great venue with great facilities and a nice atmosphere.
