If the reason for our visit was just for the spa it would have spoiled our visit but we enjoyed the whole Edinburgh experience. The evening dinner and breakfast were great as were the staff.

Having to trail in a rob up in a lift and through the hotel to get to a treatment room was not the most relaxing experience I've had. The massage and facial were pretty basic but were ok for what we actually paid.

My 30 min massage lasted 12, I was taken through the hotel up 6 floors in the lift in my robe without warning. The massage itself was not only short but average. When I complained to the spa manager she gave us a free gift to return to the spa which was much appreciated. My mums facial wasn't the allotted 30 mins either, more like 20. She spent the rest of the day picking off the exfoliant mask which hadn't been taken off thoroughly. The staff were unprofessional and one even swore Infront of my mother and moaned that giving a massage was hard work and she didn't like it.

The facilities were very busy and there was a lot of older children playing loudly in the pool which ruined the ambience and experience completely. The pool itself was extremely dirty with hair floating all over it.

The 'relaxation room' was a cold room with dimmed lighting and chairs where people got manicures done at one end. In comparison to other spa days I've been on, I wouldn't describe this as a relaxation room, more a room with chairs.

Overall the decor was dated and it very much looked like a gym and pool that was trying to make itself a spa facility.

The lunch menu was small but varied and the food was good, dessert however was served up with mouldy/off cream which was not the best way to end a very average experience.

Nobody to greet us on arrival. Had to go look for a member of staff. Told to wait at a table and chairs which had dirty cups on it. Taken through to what can only be described as a cupboard with a broken laminate floor. Had facial. Wasn't the best. Girl never explained any of the products. My friend had a better experience in the room next door. Won't be back.

The venue itself is a little shabby round the edges (although the hotel is currently under refurbishment) however I thought for the price the service, location and staff were good. Not the most peaceful or relaxing venue (kids in the pool etc) but staff were lovely and the treatment itself was a real treat.

The spa is a bit tired round the edges but the spa rooms themselves seemed nicer. The showers in the changing room and gym area were in particular need of a refresh. My massage was fine but I was asked about any areas I'd like focus on but then they weren't in the massage. Still pleasant massage. The food as part of the offer was terrible.

Really great lunch, nice spa facilities and not overcrowded. However, the treatments should have been a lot better - mistakes and not attentive.

Got the Morning Booster Spa Experience for myself and my Boyfriend. Staff were very helpful, the spa itself had a very relaxing atmosphere and you could help yourself to tea/coffee and water as needed. Massage was very good also. Only complaint is that the Staff did not seem to be aware of all the voucher deals/if you had prepaid, so was a bit awkward having to prove that I had already paid the full amount. Make sure you have your voucher with you and check if you have already paid or if you have to pay when you go for the treatment. Very small issue, but if it is a gift for someone else you don't want to have to deal with this in front of them!

Really run down spa. Facilities are grotty, was very disappointed with the overall experience. Left straight after treatments as the jacuzzi was full of chemicals that burnt my mum's eyes. Not enough loungers so ended up sitting on a chair by the pool.
