Disappointed that the Jacuzzi was cold and not very powerful.
Also that staff lost details of treatments booked and consequently we did not get the full booking.
I thought that the sauna was a little too hot - but that might be personal preference.
Amazed that the restaurant ran out of Vanilla Icecream, Smoked salmon and Seafood Chowder - all on a very restricted menu, which was the same on both nights.
Considerable waits/queues in restaurant for service, clean cereal bowls, glasses, bread etc.

One of the staff had phoned in sick just before we arrived therefore instead of there being 6 treatments between 3 of us, we only had 4. The receptionist was very accommodating and did upgrade our lunch ...and I was allowed to use their nail varnish to do my own nails. We had facial, head massage and two back massages which were all excellent. The one thing I felt was missing was that there was no chill room with beds and quiet music. This was only in the treatment rooms. Other than that, it was an enjoyable day.

I fully enjoyed my experience at Shrigey Hall, the staff were very welcoming and the facilities were clean and spacious. The massage was excellent really relaxing and it was great to be in a pool that wasn't over crowded.

The treatments staff and facilities were superb on the day, however, prior to arrival, they could not find our booking on the system and were rude to my friend who telephoned on my behalf to book a time slot, they insisted she find the booking details and unless we came back with the details within the hour they would not hold them, i was out in a poor signal area and this caused us to worry, until i could get a signal on my phone i could not get back to them, they did eventually find our booking and apologised, however no complimentary anything was given.

I stayed overnight for a spa day and 30 minute pedicure. It was lovely. The dinner was delicious. All the staff were really pleasant and helpful - far more than the usual hotel standard. The spa treatment was enjoyable and I am going to join the health club as I don't live too far away. Well done Shrigley Hall !

didnt have any of the treatments that i had previously paid for as lastminute.com had not checked with the hotel / beauty room to check that they had availability when i booked the room!!! when i called the hotel to confirm what time i'd like the treatments, they said they had no availability & that several other people had been let down as well!!!! this was a wedding aniversary present for my husband, iv been on the phone to lastminute.com for hours trying to get a refund but still not managed to speak to a soul!!!! very disappointed, will not use them again!!

It really is a shame that the hotel hasn't bothered to invest in its facilities. The building could be lovely and the staff were fantastic but everything is let down by being damp, crumbling and broken. The hotel bathroom needed re-grouting and was mouldy, and the sink was cracking with age. Inside the spa, everything felt damp and a little grimey. The steam room had plaster falling off the ceiling as we sat there and crumbling light fittings, the swimming area again had plaster falling on us while we showered and I got dirty from sitting in the (half-hearted) jacuzzi. The entire floor was damp and forming puddles all day despite there only being around 3 people in the pool area at any time. The staff really did go out of their way to improve our experience but it's hard to have a relaxing getaway while everything feels dirty.

Shrigley hall itself is beautiful, lovely grounds. A wow approach to the hotel. Very friendly staff throughout our stay. Disappointment was the room. We were situated in a sepetate building which is understandable as there was a wedding occupying the main building it seemed. But our room was a long walk away. I'd never be able to bring my mum here, she wouldn't have managed the walk. The extension building and room is tired, all in need of modernisation. Room was small and dark. The meal as part of our stay was alright but again lacked the wow I expected, and all three courses were brought out quickly so dinner felt rushed. The massage by Lisa was really well done. The spa facilities felt dated again and lacked the special relaxing details.

I came here with me and my mum to have a girly day. It was lovely! Had a great day, i loved getting around in dressing gowns and slippers! We both had a facial and then a back massage which really relaxed both of us. My mum was so impressed she gave the woman a hug because she had done such a great job!
Would recommend to anyone!

The spa and treatments were good but the hotel itself was a bit tired and we had a number of issues with food and payments

Spa treatments were nice but that was about the only thing. The venue itself is very tired, the seating area is dull and the whole spa area is short on natural light. This is the area you sit to complete paperwork, have lunch and wait for the treatments, the rattan furniture is unbelievably uncomfortable and we found ourselves wandering round as not to sit in there for any length of time. The changing/toilet/shower area looks like it has not been updated in 20 years, this could have been forgiven if it was clean but it was not. Dirt and filth in the corner of the toilets looked like it hadn't had a proper clean in months. There was either bad paint work or mould on the wall, all in all it felt like it needed a good jet washing and maintenance program. Robes were old and tired to the point one of my party had to wear a towel underneath because of holes in it. Steam room seemed to have drainage issues as a puddle covered most of the floor, paint peeling off the ceiling with what looked like mould growing in it. Jacuzzi also looked like it needed jet washing, my friend found the plastic cap from a disposable razor floating in there. General pool area had brick dust round the outskirts I have no idea how long that had been there. When it came time for our treatments were asked to walk through a wedding party in our robes!! Just so you are aware if you are in a group and book treatments at the same time you will all be in the same room. All in all there are much better spa days available for the same price. We would not visit again having had a much better experience another spa day not a million miles away.

Having a facial in the tranquil room was not as tranquil as it could be we could hear the noise outside the room above the soothing music in the room. My daughter complained regarding her beautician smelling of cigarettes which was very off putting when you are in close proximity The lunch left a lot to be desired not to everyones taste it would be of benefit if you could be given a choice, when asked if we could have sandwiches it then took over 30 minutes to make 4 breadrolls with cheese and tuna . Overall they could of done better

Staff were very helpful, swimming and seating area need a bit of updating(lick of paint seat cover renewing) steam room needs the ceiling make over, holes in ceiling, grout needs bleaching, shower cubical a bit on the small side and needs a lick of paint, plenty of hot water and shampoo lovely clean towels and robes missing slippers, staff cleaning and checking water in pool at different intervals,(good thing) lunch was fantastic as I was expecting just a sandwich(full marks), the treatments were lovely as were the girls(full marks), All in All a nice relaxing day. A BIG THANK YOU
