A friend and I went for a spa day which included two treatments each, a full body massage and a facial. The positives The treatments were fine and lasted a good amount of time. That said, there were certainly improvements that could be made. The beds are rather uncomfortable and I don't know whether the rough towels were meant to be part of the treatment as they were certainly exfoliating! Softer towels are most definitely needed. A few small extra changes would also make a difference: therapists using softer voices, perhaps some scented candles in the treatment areas, and a quieter environment all round would be nicer. The negatives I'm afraid these far outweigh the positives. My friend and I went for a relaxing spa experience, but what we encountered was akin to the local leisure centre swimming pool on a Saturday. The sauna, steam room, hot tub and swimming pool are all in the same space and full of families with small children running about and playing: not something you expect at a spa. Offering spa treatments is fine, and they delivered on that, but offering a spa day is quite different and that certainly wasn't on delivered. For this reason, we weren't keen on staying and using the facilities as it certainly wouldn't have been relaxing. We tried to move our treatments from the afternoon to the morning but were told that wasn't an option. Not able to use the facilities, we left and returned later in the day for our treatments. All in, this was an incredibly disappointing day that was meant as a pre-Christmas treat that we'd been looking forward to for months.
The facial and massage were fantastic, but to be honest the place was tired avid in need of refurb. Jacuzzi wasn't working when we went, the 'juice bar' was more of a dead space to put cleaning products abd there was no papers to read while u relaxed around pool area. The gym was fine, pool was fine and food was ok. Sorry but won't be going back :(
I have booked a Sunday Night Replenish Spa Break through Wahanda for my wife`s birthday (through Quidco you can get 11% cashback). We arrived to the hotel about 15 minutes before 3pm (check-in time) and the room was still not ready so we were waiting in the bar. The winter soup what we ordered in the bar was a bit of disappointment (got it after 20 mins, when we chased it because it seemed the bar staff did not care much and we got not even hot and not much taste soup). Check-in went smoothly and apart from many people complained in reviews for difficult finding the rooms, we found ours easily on the second floor (room number 215, on the same level with the spa). When we stepped into the room, it was a WOWWW! It was a huge bedroom, beautifully finished, nice vintage furniture and noticed the quality in everything. We could not find a fault in anything. I didn`t expect such a nice room for this money, it was luxury. So we were very happy with our accommodation. We had an hour full-body massage after we accommodated the room. I really enjoyed my massage, it was relaxing and professional. My wife has complained she could not enjoy it, actually it hurt to her many time; it was too strong that she could not enjoy it. After we went to the Spa that was nice, swimming pool a bit small indeed but was all right. A bit disappointment the jacuzzi did not operate due to a fault. The saunas were enjoyable though. Our dinner was booked for 8:30pm. Starter was ok (chicken pate), the main was fabulous! I ordered a braised beef and it was like a dream. We got a free bottle of Sicilian red wine in the bundle that was also a good one. Desert was also very nice (apple tart). We had a very pleasant night in our beautiful room; slept about 10 hours without any disturbance. Room temperature was also fine. The breakfast was self-serve. We have selected a standard full English breakfast. It wasn`t that low fat how it was advertised in the menu but it was delicious. Check-out went also smoothly. To summarize, I expected a big disappointment after reading the reviews on TripAdvisor and an unpleasant stay but decided to give a try. Actually it was better than the average, I feel it was value for money and a good deal. In my opinion there is no hotel that is perfect, always there is a glitch but in my opinion this hotel is close to perfect and recommend this Sunday Night Replenish Spa Break everyone who wants a pleasant, bit of luxury break but on lower budget.
A lovely setting, friendly helpful staff and fantastic treatments. A lovely birthday treat having the morning booster spa. I would definitely recommend to friends and family and will be back in the future.
The hotel was lovely, rooms were great! We asked for an adjoining room which we got and it was realy good! Food in the restraunt was nice but not anything speacial, although was value for money. The leisure facilities were sufficient but not the best I have been too, licker room a bit worn. I had full body massage which was fabulous! Would defiantly recommend that! On a whole we had a great stay & would return... Just watch out for the ghosts!
