Loved the venue and the decor. Spa facilities were good and the treatments were lovely. Great value for money - food was outstanding and the grounds were beautiful. The service of staff was a little slow for food and drink but otherwise it was a great stay.

The hotel itself is beautiful, in a. Beautiful setting and well maintained. The reception staff where very efficient and couldn't do enough for you. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms very spacious. The gardens well maintained and a lovely view... Would be lovely on a summers day. Little hard to find, especially as you've got the wrong postcode on your website - may need updating.
The disappointing end was the food. Little choice especially for those more on the fussy side and the food came out Luke warm rather than hot. Spirits at the bar very expensive - for a single southern comfort and coke my sister paid £5.80 for.
We opted for room service for breakfast, filled out our request forms the night before and in the morning it arrived wrong, and then was cold. Very dissapointing.
Overall - I would say I wouldn't come back because being quiet secluded from any surrounding areas the food wasn't up to par.. However the staff where very attentive and the rooms where lovely! Just maybe review the kitchen side of things.

Much like the other reviews; the overall spa is a bit tired, really could do with a lick of paint and update but it was nice to go to a spa with a full-size pool. The hydro-pool was a fun experience, but missing a Jacuzzi and the sauna was tricky to find, hidden at the back of the changing rooms, not next to the steam room. Is used as a fitness club by members of the public too, which is fine, just kids started pouring in at about half past 3, which is when we decided to leave.
We were told we were fine to go to lunch in our robes but then were the only ones there as such and felt a bit self-conscious. The bistro staff also seemed very distracted and service wasn't brilliant - we waited and waited to order dessert but no one came despite walking past our table several times and seeing our plates stacked up, in the end we gave up. (Be warned: the included lunch portions are tiny!)
The treatments were brilliant though, best facial I've had in a long time and a really good massage. Was my friends first spa day so first massage and facial and she loved them too. We felt totally relaxed and spoiled.
Overall it was a really nice day, just be prepared to not examine the state of the décor and bring a snack!

Wow - what an amazing place to stay. Had few issues finding the hotel - sat nav took us to the wrong place. But once we arrived - WOW
What a stunning setting.
We stayed in the main house - which I understand is waiting to be re-decorated
Our room looked out over the grounds - it was beautiful.
The Spa area is looking a bit tired - but again is due to be re-decorated.
The massage was AMAZING.
They have a new chef and the food was out of this world.
I am allergic to some food and all the staff were very helpful in ensuring that I was looked after properly.
There is a lounge with a massive open fire and after dinner we sat in there with other residents and chatted.

The hotel has a lovely atmosphere. It is very close to the centre of Bath and my husband and I will be going back there.
It has recently been sold and the new owners are very busy up dating the hotel.
I cannt wait to go back for another weekend

Very good weekend break with my wife. A lovely location outside Bath
We both had full body massage with two different masseurs, one excellent and one OK.
The room was really good with a lovely view across the valley, and we had an excellent evening meal.
My only slightly negative comment is that the main hotel, the garden rooms (bedrooms) and Spa are all separate buildings, and walking between them in the rain was a bit of a pain, however other than that it was excellent

The overall experience was good value for money. However the building attached to combe manor was dated. As my massage was at 10 the time we were to arrive I felt rushed over to the massage room and did other have time to fill in the paperwork regarding my massage. The massage itself was okay a day the room was a a bit on the chilly side, I had to have extra towels to keep me warm. It was disappointing to find out the spa beds where unavailable which the staff did not mention when we arrived. The lunch was lovely. Overall it was good value for money, but I felt that that we were sold an experience in a beautiful manor and I don't feel I got this experience.

Spa was lovely, relaxing treatments, only things I could say negatively about it was I was charged £35 for a bottle of prosecco which is extortionate in my opinion. The hydro/jaccuzi bed are rather uncomfortable just being metal frame.

Had a lovely day here, although the toilet facilities could have been cleaner, but apart from that lovely venue, staff really friendly, beautiful views.

I stayed in the hotel for one night and used the Full body massage treatment as well as the hotel's facilities. The hotel was a renovated old mansion with a fantastic view on the Bath countryside and a few outdoor facilities, such as a brasserie/bar and tents for food.
The room was spacious, clean and sunny so I was very satisfied. I stayed on the first floor of the hotel which had an easy access via an old, wooden staircase. Breakfast and dinner were served in a beautifully decorated Georgian restaurant on the ground floor and the quality of food was really nice, as well. Cooked and international breakfast in abundance and a three course meal of decent quality in nice little tables.
The staff are very polite and eager to serve anytime needed which made my stay easier. However, I noticed that the hotel is understaffed which meant that the same people kept rotating and different jobs. It might sound irrelevant to the visitor but it was confusing sometimes.
I think the major downfall of this hotel is the beauty treatments and the facilities they offer. On their webpage they speak of a gym, indoor and outdoor pools and the beauty treatments. They gym was out of order for a long period because of refurbishment work and they had to extend the closure times because they claimed that the damage was bigger than they originally thought. Many guests including me were disappointed by this as there was no prior announcement and it was one of the facilities I wanted to visit.
Moreover, the other hotel facilities are overestimated in regards to their standards. The steam room was very small (probably can fit 5-6 people max), the saunas were in the dressing rooms (far from the rest of the facilities) and there was one hot water pool which could also fit 4 people on water beds. It is definitely far from what I expected reading the information on their webpage.
My massage treatment was relaxing and relieving. Offered by a young professional I soon felt in comfort and enjoyed my session in an ambient environment. Please make a note that the sessions are more like 45' instead of 1 hour as described on the webpage.
However, my biggest complaint comes from the way the management of this hotel treats visitors. I initially booked my stay for the bank holiday weekend of late August and a couple of days later the sales manager of the hotel contacted me and told me that they can't host me these days and that apparently there had been a mistake on the system. I accepted to visit the next weekend but since then I had been contacting her to sort out and confirm the dates and also a refund I requested from travel overcharges. It was really difficult to approach her and although she offered a bottle of champagne to be waiting for me in my room, she declined to refund me the amount of £12.99 (!) on the grounds that the hotel could not physically refund money to guests. On top of that she claimed that the cost of the wine covered the refund I asked anyway!
To me that was a sign of poor service to a complaining customer who did nothing wrong when booking a visit to this hotel and all they wanted was to enjoy a weekend of absolutely no stress. I ended up having to chase the sales manager of this hotel multiple times by e-mail and phone to end up having to pay extra for my travel for reasoning that I find unacceptable.
Of course, this might not happen to anyone else but my recommendation would be that if your original plan does not follow through, cancel and spend your money on another hotel. Thank God, there are plenty of those in England!

A good value spa break at £99 but the hotel intrrior was tired looking and lacked any ambience. The 3 course dinner was just ok. Lunch in the brasserie was better. The spa facilities were underwhelming. Fortunately the full body aromatherapy massage was very good (and I've had lots to compare to!). I booked this Sunday night spa package for my 2 sisters and mum as a 50th birthday celebration for my sister and notified staff of this in advance and on arrival. Was disappointed to not receive any complementary gesture of a treat but I guess you get what you pay for and I had a fantastic time with my family regardless :)

First time at a spa and everythong was just perfect! The staff, treatments and the rooms were amazing. I'd recommend going there as it was well worth the money and can get some really good deals!
