It\u2019s finally here \u2013 barber shops and salons are set to open once again after a months-long lockdown.<\/p>\n

But while the entire community is already itching for their next trim, things are most likely going to be very different \u2013 especially for barbers.<\/p>\n

We spoke to our customers and barber shops around Europe who\u2019ve already gone through the re-opening process to find out what to expect \u2013 and how to make the most of it. Here\u2019s what we found out.<\/p>\n

Clients are definitely<\/em> excited<\/strong><\/h2>\n

One things\u2019 for certain \u2013 client demand isn\u2019t going anywhere. Our customers said that visiting a barber shop or salon was in their top three priorities, as soon as they were able to post-lockdown.<\/p>\n

That goes double for barbers, in fact. In all the countries which have come out of lockdown so far, mens haircuts were the most<\/em> booked treatment on the whole of Treatwell.<\/p>\n

So, it\u2019s extra important to make sure you\u2019re set up properly for re-opening, to make the most of it.<\/p>\n

Be sure to get back in the shop a few days early to make sure everything is ready to go. We\u2019d recommend spending time on at least one \u2018test\u2019 day, where you or your team take a dry run of what your new normal will look like.<\/p>\n

Pro tip:<\/strong> Get someone to role-play a client visiting the shop, to make sure you pick up on anything that might be a problem \u2013 it\u2019ll be worth it.<\/p>\n

Hygiene matters more than ever<\/strong><\/h2>\n

While clients are eager to get back in the chair, that doesn\u2019t mean behaviour isn\u2019t changing. Understandably, hygiene was given as a top concern by all our customers \u2013 at the end of the day, they just don\u2019t want to book in somewhere they don\u2019t feel safe.<\/p>\n

They\u2019re on the lookout for clearly elevated hygiene practices, ways to avoid crossing paths with too many other people and minimising direct contact.<\/p>\n

The government has released a new, full list of guidelines and rules to help you manage any risks.<\/p>\n
