A big budget is not always needed to get that celebrity hairdo - many famous salons also have training academies. You can get your locks cut for half price or even bag a free colour by a trainee. Vidal Sassoon offers hair cuts for free at their training college, The Advanced Academy. Toni and Guy, the hairdressing chain also looks for models at their training academies around the country as well as Saks Hair and Beauty Salons. Training Academies are great if you are style conscious and want to have the best hairstyles in town, as most haircuts are designed with next season’s trends in mind.
Not every hairdressing salon offers the standard cut and blow dry. If you are a trendy, retro gal who likes to have a 40’s style chignon, then there are salons such as Pimps and Pin-ups in East London who know how to complete your vintage look. Or even if you’re ‘green’ there are places such as Louise Galvin; the first hair and beauty salon to go carbon neutral, they use products that are free of harmful ingredients.
Men can also get a hair makeover at a gentleman’s only grooming parlor. Places like The Refinery in London, The Gentry in Manchester or Hooka in Liverpool are dedicated to making men look well trimmed. They offer everything from haircuts to a traditional wet shave and unlike traditional barber shops they even have a wide range of beauty treatments available from aromatherapy massage to hair transplants.
