However, we are seeing an increasing number of women booking intimate waxes on Treatwell each year. In 2019 this was +84% year-on-year.<\/p>\n<p>Treatwell has partnered with Public Health England\u2019s \u2018Cervical Screening Saves Lives\u2019 campaign to create \u2018Life Saving Wax\u2019, working with salons across the country to talk about the importance of cervical screenings.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Life Saving Wax. Life Saving Chat.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>What\u2019s Cervical<br \/>\nScreening?<\/p>\n<p>Cervical screening (or \u2018smear test\u2019) is a regular check of the health of the cervix (the entrance to the womb), and can detect potentially harmful cells before they develop into cancer.<\/p>\n<p>Cervical screening is not a test for cancer, but regular screenings can stop cancer before it starts.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.treatwell.co.uk/inspiration\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2019\/04\/lsw.png\" alt=\"lsw\" height=\"240\" width=\"1921\" title=\"lsw\" \/><\/p>\n<p>How to make your screening more comfortable<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Talk to your nurse \u2013 they\u2019re trained and experienced in making your appointment comfortable.<br \/>\n&#8211; Take a friend, or a family member with you. That might ease any nerves.<br \/>\n&#8211; Wear a loose skirt or dress \u2013 it can make you feel more covered. <br \/>\n&#8211; Ask your nurse about breathing exercises to help you relax, or try listening to something you enjoy \u2013 like a podcast, or music.\n<\/p>\n<p>Do I need<br \/>\na screening? <\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019ve got a cervix \u2013 which is most women and many trans people \u2013 aged between 25-64, you\u2019re eligible for regular cervical screenings.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; If you\u2019re aged 25-49, every 3 years<br \/>\n&#8211; If you\u2019re aged 50-64, every 5 years<\/p>\n<p>\nWhen it\u2019s time for you to have your cervical screening, you\u2019ll receive an invitation letter through the post \u2013 don\u2019t ignore it!
