Wedding season is upon us and whether you’re looking for the perfect venue for your special day, a place to ‘unwind’ with a group of hens, or a rural retreat in which to hide away from Bridezilla’s various demands, Craxton Wood Hotel has it all – including a state of the art spa. Following a recent £1.4 million investment, the Vital Spa at Craxton Wood offers some of the best facilities in the North West, one of the many reasons we've voted it our spa of the week…
Situated among 27 acres of Cheshire woodland, Craxton Wood Hotel and Spa looks like a traditional, white-washed country house (albeit a rather large one), but inside the décor is chic and the facilities are thoroughly modern. Blending English tradition with 21st century comfort, the venue seeks to offer guests the perfect, peaceful escape from modern life, despite being just 10-15 minutes away from the city of Chester.
Already a favourite among the people of Cheshire, the spa’s recent investment has upgraded existing facilities and introduced a few new amenities, to make it one of the most luxurious in the area – which, in 'footballer’s country', is really saying something.
The luxury facilities include an 18 metre heated indoor pool (which looks out onto the surrounding woodland through full-length windows), a poolside steam room and sauna, an extensive thermal suite (including a herbal sauna, aroma steam room, ice fountain, foot spas and experience showers), 12 luxury spa treatment rooms, a Rasul mud therapy room, two relaxation areas, a woodland ‘Zen Garden’ and eleven treatment rooms, including a wellness room for holistic services like acupuncture and Chinese cupping.
The treatments on offer at the spa focus on resting the mind, energising the body and restoring a sense of health and wellbeing, and are tailored to the specific needs of each guest. Choose from maintenance treatments like waxing, eight different nail treatments (using Jessica products), a selection of soothing and smoothing body wraps from Elemis, an entire menu of face treatments (ranging from tri-enzyme resurfacing to lavender repair facials), and a variety of massages to suit every need.
If you’re feeling especially active after your treatment, you can head towards the state-of-the-art fitness facilities, which include Technogym machines and a variety of classes. Alternatively, you can make your way to the Craxton Wood Grill, which offers classic dishes using locally sourced ingredients, or enjoy a herbal tea in the Woodland café.
Fancy a refresher in Cheshire? Make a day/weekend of it and really get away from it all with one of the spa’s indulgent escape packages – the one night ‘Exotic Summer Retreat’ break sounds like just what we need. Take a look at Vital Spa at Craxton Wood’s venue page now and book in for some real, rural relaxation. You deserve it.
