The weekend is approaching and, in case you weren’t already aware, it’s a special one. That’s right, thanks to daylight saving the clocks are going back this weekend which means that whatever you’ve got planned you can do it for an extra 60 whole minutes. Huzzah! If you’re stuck for ideas on what do to with yours take a look at our top five ways to make the most of it…
“I’m definitely going to start exercising more, but first I need to buy some new trainers/join a gym/finish watching Breaking Bad’. When it comes to working out there’s always a reason to do it later, unless you find yourself with an extra hour on your hands. Use yours to kick-start a winter regime by getting outside and going for an endorphin-boosting run, signing up to a fitness class or downloading a DIY app like Pocket Yoga.
A new season brings with it a whole menu of delicious, healthy seasonal foods. With a busy schedule it can be hard to make the most of them so why not use your extra hour this weekend to peruse the seasonal aisle at your local supermarket and whip up an autumnal delicacy like one of these healthy, hearty soups.
We all need a little me-time now and again – particularly as it gets colder and darker. However, with busy schedules dominated by work, friends and family commitments, we often feel guilty devoting a large portion of our day to ourselves. Thank goodness for daylight savings. A bonus hour, by definition, is an extra – not something to be devoted to everyday activities. Use yours to treat yourself to that manicure, massage or haircut you just haven’t found the time for.
Whether it’s a bikini wax or mowing the lawn (not the same thing) we all have things on our 'to do' list that we’d rather forget about, but a bonus hour means no more excuses for not getting on with it. By using this extra hour to go for that eye test or wax, or finally schedule that dental treatment, you can enjoy the rest of your day without feeling too hard done by.
Here at Wahanda Towers we like a bit of proactivity, but we also like sleep. A lot. Being quite a realistic bunch we realise that most of you will spend your extra hour in bed this weekend and we say, good on you. Good for the mind, body and soul (not forgetting the immune system) sleep is an incredibly important part of staying happy and healthy. Unfortunately most of us struggle to get enough so this weekend we say grab a blanket, switch off your alarm and enjoy a well-deserved lie-in. You deserve it.
